Wonderful Easter Sunday 3 course lunch menu for under £20! Selection of dishes was great, food perfectly cooked, good portion size and absolutely delicious! Second visit here and wouldn't go anywhere else for a real home cooked tasting Sunday lunch. Highly recommend!

We stayed overnight at the Morritt Hotel on Wed 5/04/2023. My husband and I were on our way south to visit family. We were so taken with the Hotel accommodation and the quality of the meals in the Gilroy Restaurant and Hotel Bar... that we chose to return the following week on Wed 12/04/23 on our journey north. The room we had on 5th was superb, beautifully furnished and situated in the main Building. There is an interesting variety and choice of room sizes. On the 12th the room we had was much smaller but the fact we could book a room at such short notice was pleasing. Top marks all round - for Food /Service/ Atmosphere/ and value for money.

The food was lovely if it wasn’t overcooked I had a burger hubby had fish and chips and my son had the protein burger which was slightly overcooked We had breakfast this morning and to be honest it was fantastic lots of selection would have liked a bit more of the continental side more pastries. It’s a lovely place and dog friendly staff are also lovely too x

I booked a table at the Morritt Arms to celebrate a significant birthday for my husband. I explained this whilst booking and asked if the chef could possibly put a lit candle into the dessert. Sadly this failed to happen. Naturally I was disappointed. However the meal was very nice, although I felt the portions were quite small. The staff were lovely.

Supper offered up a varied menu and the meals we were served were tasty and wholesome but not spectacular. The breakfasts are best avoided unless it is stodgy , all you can eat and without a quality focus… the presentation lacks imagination and hygienically questionable… plus being unlimited means the pastries are available only to the lucky few fortunate enough to be there at the start of service.

We had a wedding meal here for family on 06/04/23, we cannot fault it! Not only was the service and food exceptional, but they also went above and beyond with allergies, of which there were many. Everyone who came has said they would return. Honestly, I wish we could do it all again. Thank you Colin and your lovely team.

Spending time with the family. We went to Prego for tea at 5:30pm. There wasn’t many in but after we had ordered, swiftly, we waited a while for our food. Same again for dessert. We had to find staff to order drinks and then we thought they had been forgotten about. The food was very nice, kids had pizza and pasta, burger for the husband, chicken for sister and I had salmon noodles since it was Good Friday. The desserts were nice, ice cream, sticky toffee pudding and cheesecake. Lovely food but service could be improved. This was mentioned to the lovely waitress who started our orders.

Table booked yesterday for 12.30 for 5 people....... took order about 12.55pm after we asked them to wait a little while, till we all decided.. we ordered...we then waited quite a while....then at 1.45pm they came back apologising that the order had been lost somehow through the system and the kitchen didn't get it ....we ordered again and about 2.15pm we got the meals.... We all ordered fish and chip which was nice.....the service wasn't great.

We stayed for 2 nights and had dinner and breakfast. The fish and meat was cooked to perfection. No complaints about portion sizes. The serving staff were lovely, friendly and accommodating.

This stay was a birthday gift and we were happy with the actual hotel. I was disappointed in Prego as breakfast time we constantly had to ask for things ie basic things like glasses, the juice to be filled or fruit replenished. I asked for tea and it did not arrive. The evening meal on the first night was very nice but the service was not great. You had to ask for plates to be removed and waited long periods between courses. The second night was not good we waited for a long time before ordering our food and then waited approximately 40 minutes for our starter. A young girl did apologise and said that our drinks would be complimentary. We then waited another 45minutes for our main course. It arrived to be not in a tomato sauce as we ordered but a cream sauce. The risotto rice was not cooked. I mentioned the sauce when it arrived but because we had waited so long we said we would just eat it rather than waiting for another one to be cooked. We were given 50% off our main meal. It is such a shame as food is such an important part of a break away.

We visited for afternoon tea and the use of leisure facilities. The grounds are absolutely stunning. Afternoon tea was gorgeous and we didn’t feel rushed. The spa facilities were very well managed and kept to a clean and safe standard. Will definitely return
