Visited today with family for a Sunday lunch, the service was quick and the food delicious. Was stuffed when we finished, i couldn’t have eaten anything else. I had the beef and it was delicious.

The Farmers Arms – DurhamLovely food, great portion sizes. Great value for money. Will be back!
Farmhouse Dine & Wine – DurhamVisited for the 3 courses for £10 offer. Whilst the menu is limited If you discount the options you pay more for, there's enough for a good midweek meal out. Food was excellent, beer was good with excellent service. Will be back
The Farmers Arms – DurhamJust returned from this lovely friendly hotel. Staff were amazing nothing was too much trouble. We met Michelle shortly before her shift whilst out walking and mentioned to her if she could recommend were to go in the area and when we saw her again at dinner she had sourced leaflets of interest for us. We were even asked by a lady at breakfast if we should like our flask filling for our journey home as it was starting to snow which I found very thoughtful ( unfortunately we didn’t have our flask with us) Food of high standard and locally sourced. We upgraded our room at a small cost as the classic room was a little small for our liking. The Garage Spa is so relaxing I highly recommend the Dry Floatation and deep tissue massage I felt rejuvenated afterwards and all well worth the money. Would definitely return.
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleLove eating here - happy hour is such good value - staff friendly - family’s fave place to Eat
Farmhouse Dine & Wine – DurhamHave stopped off at The Dickens Bar many times before but this was our first time staying here. The hotel was fantastic, lovely clean, comfortable rooms with modern bathroom facilities. The breakfast was delicious will be staying again in the future.

Farmhouse Dine & Wine – DurhamFollowing an amazing Sunday lunch a few weeks ago, I returned with my family for a birthday celebration and was a little disappointed I’d dragged them all that way for very very chewy meats burned Yorkshire puds, I had bigged the meal up so much to them. We all had sticky toffee pudding which is amazing but it wasn’t hot, everything was Luke warm. The staff however are great and it is a lovely place so not sure if it was a different chef this time.
Derwent Manor Hotel – DurhamNice beer, lovely food, friendly staff
The Farmers Arms – DurhamService couldn't have been much better. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Atmosphere was just what we wanted for a relaxing romantic night away. Main meals were lovely but definitely overpriced. Desserts however were not as good unfortunately. Chocolate browney was more like Chocolate cake but not a nice one. Sticky toffee pudding was underwhelming and chewy. Both tasted like shop bought puddings heated up in the microwave. Shame the puddings let down the meal.
Hall Garth Hotel – DarlingtonEnjoyed a lovely and well presented meal in the bistro. The menu offered plenty of choice even for our vegan friend Service excellent and everything was good value for the price
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleExcellent meal and service and staff great ,would highly recommend .
Derwent Manor Hotel – DurhamWe went as a party of 8 on a Tuesday expecting it not to be busy! We couldn't have been more wrong, great to see a small business doing so well. The staff were great, constantly busy but on hand for whatever you needed. Food was lovely and amazing value for money!! We will definitely be back.
Farmhouse Dine & Wine – DurhamExcellent food perfectly cooked and presented Excellent service from Sarah An all-round great experience See you again soon Thanks
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleEnjoyed the food, fillet steak was cooked perfect however we were not given steak knives so had to get waitress’ attention to request. A two course meal was included in our hotel reservation, however just about every starter and main had a supplement starters £2-£4 and mains £10-£15 which I was not made aware of prior to being given the menu when we were seated I feel these surcharges were expensive. Also when given the bill to sign there was a charge of £50 for the dinner plus the surcharges (£34) and a service charge for the full amount it was then explained that the dinner charge is removed after midnight. Our table was wonky and waitress had to insert card under leg to level it. Breakfast was lovely service friendly and efficient. Afternoon tea was also included in our package which we had the following day, this was fresh and the service friendly and attentive although we were the only guests in the restaurant. The restaurant is decorated lovely a heritage feel to it and tables well spaced out.
