We had a spa afternoon tea and it pains me to leave such a review but we won't be returning for afternoon tea it was dreadful!! The bread was stale, the beef was still running around the field, and as for brie and cranberry as a choice of sandwich best to leave that to a panini or toastie! Much nicer afternoon teas in the area and much better value for money. However, on a much more positive note the spa and therapists were lovely definitely worth a pampered treat.

Fantastic - we had afternoon tea here first and it was really lovely, sandwiches and small selection of cakes and a scone . No issues and they catered for diary free . Our evening meal was delicious but was too full for desert , everything was cooked beautifully and the staff here are so friendly and nothing is a problem. The waitress and Adam G served us as if we were VIP - first class service .

We stayed at the Morritt Hotel and had dinner at Gilroys. Amazing food and lovely service. They were really accommodating to allergens and a really friendly team. Would highly recommend!

We had afternoon tea and it was lovely! The perfect amount for two people and the cakes were delicious. Definitely be visiting again.

We were very well received and welcomed. We were given an excellent place in the restaurant for a quiet conversation and the service was friendly and efficient. The food looked good and tasted OK but sadly my bread was stale...

The food was outstanding, the service was brilliant the staff are extremely friendly , the atmosphere is relaxed. We had a table for 8 and the coped amazingly everyone had a fab time. We are certainly returning and returning soon.

Was excited to visit here and was disappointed. The food was ok, but found both the male staff who dealt with us sullen and disinterested. Wasn't asked if we required more drinks during the meal, even though my son had an empty glass. Bill had 10% service charge added automatically. Paid it and just won't go back.

Food was excellent and good value for the money. The waitresses were lovely and very helpful. The restaurant was nicely busy but not packed.

Had a lovely meal yesterday for Mother's Day treat. Food was amazing apart from my sister receiving a sausage wrapped in bacon that wasn't cooked properly was still cold in the middle sent it back and another came the same. The waitress was so understanding and brilliant at her job. We received a complimentary glass of fizz which was so very kind. Later we had desserts which were all lovely but the crumble wasn't very warm. Overall a beautiful meal. I would visit again. Thank you.

Lovely Mothers Day Sunday Lunch yesterday. The service was excellent, considering there wasn’t an empty table anywhere in the pub. Our food was amazing, not a single complaint from our table of 10. We loved the little touch of a complimentary glass of fizz for all the Mams on our table. Fabulous food, Fabulous drinks & Fabulous staff who I hope are having a well earned rest today.

Had a lovely meal here… menu is so varied with something for everyone and the food is excellent … staff were really friendly, will definitely be returning.

Booked in for a meal for my partners birthday and everything was perfect. Atmosphere was nice, staff very friendly and helpful, food was lovely.

Lovely place, was really busy on Saturday evening. Our steaks got given to another table then when they realised they took the steaks off them toon back to kitchen even tho that table had seasoned them, the maitre d then with his hands fluffed up the chips then tried to serve it to us and didn’t see what was the matter with this. You can see the kitchen from our seats. Eventually changed them and we “got fresh ones” but spoilt our whole experience. His attitude was really disappointing, covid might be less talked about but hygiene should always be top priority.

Food and service was fantastic even though it was very busy. Well done to all the staff !

Fantastic atmosphere, amazing food and friendly staff. We really enjoyed our meal here. The food was so tasty and the staff work so hard to make sure people are catered for - would highly recommend. Thank you for a brilliant night :-)

Food was fantastic,best steak we ve all had in a long time

Restaurant was very pleasant. Tables nicely spaced and the room itself well decorated. Waiting staff very friendly and helpful and there was a nice atmosphere. The standard of the food was exceptional and of good proportions. The breakfast selection was very good with somethings cooked to order as requested. Nothing seemed too much trouble for the waiting staff. Fresh pots of tea was served when requested. The afternoon tea was one of the best we have had - not too many sweet cakes but a good balance with savoury fare. The meal we had in the bar was also good with some of the restaurant choices on offer but with also some more traditional 'pub grub'. For bar food we felt prices were a bit high.

Beautiful hotel the restaurant and bar are beautiful food very nice too, outstanding welcome from the bar manager who took time out to give us a tour of the amazing room definitely recommend
