Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleStaff friendly. Food very nice but some prices a bit dear
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleWent with my family for fathers day. Food and service were excellent. Staff friendly. We were given the full menu along with the fathers day menu. Fathers day menu quoted prices for 2 or three courses. The full menu quoted 1 course Sunday lunch at 8.95. We ordered 3 Sunday lunches along with 1 pasta dish and S garlic bread. The bill came to £54.35. When I questioned this I was told that 1 course Sunday lunch was 13.95 because of it being fathers day. So the Sunday lunch had increased by £5 per head there was no mention of this on the menu. Very disappointing
Farmhouse Dine & Wine – DurhamWe have amazing foods good service restaurants always still busy everything it fine for us
Farmhouse Dine & Wine – DurhamHow anyone can score the food here anything less than a 4.5 is beyond me!! Service was wonderful, all lovely smiling faces and the food, wow. There isn't a great selection, but what the do, they do well!! I was not disappointed!!
Hall Garth Hotel – DarlingtonWe were sceptical as it seemed too good to be true. 3 courses for £10 youd struggle to get the ingredients for that in Tesco. Service, atmosphere and food were all excellent. Quality and portion size were outstanding will definitely be back. Even the full price menu is excellent value.
The Farmers Arms – DurhamFood was ok , when it said a two course meal i wasn’t expecting a sandwich, when we order it took 35 mins to arrive , surroundings were lovely, we enjoyed watching the people playing golf, The spa is very dated , amazing what a lick of paint could do, also went in for a hour treatment and my partner only got half an hour , someone didn't get the meno, dont think we will be returning
Hall Garth Hotel – Darlingtonlovely afternoon tea warm and fresh, lovely surroundings would definitely visit again. Popped in spa pool was cold and it was a bit dated, but we still had a lovely afternoon
Hall Garth Hotel – DarlingtonHad a meal from the bar menu. Basic bar menu. I had fish and chips and husband had the meat pie. Everything lovely. Pudding and cheeseboard really nice. Beautiful setting. Staff excellent very friendly and helpful.
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleLovely tasty and well cooked meal, Well presented and served by some really nice helpful staff.
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleJust had a beautiful meal at this restaurant. Both me and my husband had fillet steak. It was cooked perfect and was served with a delicious peppercorn sauce. We then had the cheeseboard and a copy toffe pudding. Could not fault the meal. Fabulous service. Will definitely recommend.
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleExcellent food, friendly and efficient staff. Beautiful setting, will definitely return. We had Sunday Lunch, very good value for money, will recommend to family and friends.
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleAmazing food and service. Sunday lunches are unreal. Highly recommended. It gets very busy on a Sunday so definitely book. I've never had anything but delicious food and perfect service. Huge portions too.
Farmhouse Dine & Wine – DurhamWent on a Saturday night. Was fairly busy but we got seated and served promptly. Staff were lovely and food was very good! Would definitely go again... Prices reasonable and very good value Happy hour!
Farmhouse Dine & Wine – DurhamThe food was lovely and excellent value. Staff were fabulous, friendly and attentive without being over powering. This is definitely a good place to eat and enjoy.
The Farmers Arms – DurhamAmazing food and great value for money. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Couldn’t ask for anything more
The Farmers Arms – DurhamExcellent food and the old country roses china made the table setting look very elegant but the plain white teapot and milk jug which were brought when we asked for another pot of tea lowered the tone. Why couldn’t the teapot and milk jug have just been refilled? While the initial service was excellent the follow up was poor and we had to go in search of staff for more tea. Granted that may have been due to the fact that we were the only party there for afternoon tea and it was Thursday afternoon. However, my husband much enjoyed his birthday treat.
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleWe have stayed here twice over the past year and even though it needs some work we love the place. The food is really really good, I find the restaurant though bland in decor for such a lovely room it could be nicer, service can be slow at times but overall we will defo be back.
