The Farmers Arms – DurhamLove the food here .very big portions and was very nicely precented.nice restaurant and food prices are decent .would definatley eat here again.
Derwent Manor Hotel – DurhamOur first time at the Farmers Arms, overall good. We were seated straight away and drink order taken, the barman was kind enough to make me a mocktail, which wasn't on the menu, to accommodate my pregnancy. Unfortunately we had to go and ask for our order to be taken as no one came, we ordered from the £10 menu. We ordered the fish cakes, chicken kebab and steak. I had to clean our table as it was dirty, unfortunate but not the end of the world. All food arrived hot and the taste was satisfactory. Our waitress was just lovely, sorry I didn't get her name. She was polite, friendly, engaging and so so helpful she gave our desert to take away. A credit to this business! We would probably return but not eat from the £10 menu. I was very surprised (working in a 5 star hotel) that they didn't add service charges!!
The Farmers Arms – DurhamVisited for our anniversary and had food at prego. Brilliant food and large portions, will always come back for special events and anniversaries. I’ve had the atmosphere be better before, also service was a little slow.
Derwent Manor Hotel – DurhamQuite disappointed. Arrived at 4:55pm for a reservation of 5pm to be told by waitress, "Kitchen does not open until 5pm" granted first there but not given any choice of where we wanted to sit. Asked if we wanted drinks but decided to wait until read drinks menu, decided on x2 drinks for my good lady & I. Waitress came back about 10 mins later for drinks order, which we gave. Ordered Halloumi fries to start which they she said was off the menu today, then wanted Farmhouse Parmo, which was also not on the menu today. So we decided to order the x2 Steaks, sides and bottle of wine. Starter was very slow to come out as was the main. Food quality was good, just the Service and availability let the Italian Farmhouse down. Would I return debatable.
Farmhouse Dine & Wine – DurhamThe food was outstanding. I was a chef and I watched the young lad work hard as well as the 2 chefs. The staff were very smart and on the ball at all times. The restaurants decor was lovely. We will definitely recommend.
Derwent Manor Hotel – DurhamCome with my daughter for lunch tried the 3 course for £10. Food was absolutely Gorgeous, service was excellent Staff were so friendly I would highly recommend this place for food. I will definitely come back again
The Farmers Arms – DurhamFood was modern, well presented and tasted great. Staff were delightful. Atmosphere was limited to myself and my husband!!
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleBeautiful meal on Thuraday evening. We had a selection of starters with fries and some drinks. The food is pricey but worth it, the staff are lovely and readily available to help you.
Derwent Manor Hotel – DurhamLunch menu is very limited, we asked to have a meal from the hub menu and the waitress went out of her way to help with that. Really just needs more choice and some healthier options would be great. That said the food was really tasty and everyone enjoyed their meal.
Hall Garth Hotel – DarlingtonBeautiful food as always, speedy service and the food was super hot.
Farmhouse Dine & Wine – Durham5 star
Farmhouse Dine & Wine – DurhamAs well as lovely food in Gilroy and Dickens Bar, our stay was more than we had hoped for. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Will be back again.
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleTook my son for his graduation celebration meal . Lovely friendly staff , food was first class. If only we lived closer would definitely go back again .
Farmhouse Dine & Wine – DurhamAm overnight stop on the way to Scotland didn’t really know what to expect. The menu was more simple than the hotel website led us to believe but the food was well cooked and presented and good value. Like other reviewers we found the staff very friendly and helpful.
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleChilled out atmosphere and really lovely food. Drinks service a little slow at the table around 10mins wait but the waiting staff were lovely and we were enjoying the time out so not a problem for us. Good value; a shame we don't have one closer to home as the dog friendly bar is a real asset.
Farmhouse Dine & Wine – DurhamThe food was very good and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I ordered the Shin Beef from the bar and that was excellent.
