The food was outstanding. I was a chef and I watched the young lad work hard as well as the 2 chefs. The staff were very smart and on the ball at all times. The restaurants decor was lovely. We will definitely recommend.

The Farmers Arms – DurhamFood was modern, well presented and tasted great. Staff were delightful. Atmosphere was limited to myself and my husband!!
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleBeautiful meal on Thuraday evening. We had a selection of starters with fries and some drinks. The food is pricey but worth it, the staff are lovely and readily available to help you.
Derwent Manor Hotel – DurhamLunch menu is very limited, we asked to have a meal from the hub menu and the waitress went out of her way to help with that. Really just needs more choice and some healthier options would be great. That said the food was really tasty and everyone enjoyed their meal.
Hall Garth Hotel – DarlingtonBeautiful food as always, speedy service and the food was super hot.
Farmhouse Dine & Wine – Durham5 star
Farmhouse Dine & Wine – DurhamAs well as lovely food in Gilroy and Dickens Bar, our stay was more than we had hoped for. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Will be back again.
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleTook my son for his graduation celebration meal . Lovely friendly staff , food was first class. If only we lived closer would definitely go back again .
Farmhouse Dine & Wine – DurhamAm overnight stop on the way to Scotland didn’t really know what to expect. The menu was more simple than the hotel website led us to believe but the food was well cooked and presented and good value. Like other reviewers we found the staff very friendly and helpful.
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleChilled out atmosphere and really lovely food. Drinks service a little slow at the table around 10mins wait but the waiting staff were lovely and we were enjoying the time out so not a problem for us. Good value; a shame we don't have one closer to home as the dog friendly bar is a real asset.
Farmhouse Dine & Wine – DurhamThe food was very good and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I ordered the Shin Beef from the bar and that was excellent.
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleMyself and my partner came for food for the first time and had the 3 courses for £10. We wernt disappointed, one of the best meals we've had for a long time. Staff were really friendly and attentive, especially Gemma, food was beautiful. There's nothing that we would have changed at all. We will definitely be back soon to try the normal menu too.
The Farmers Arms – DurhamThe food was delicious and the atmosphere was really nice,,
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleFood ok. Service not so good. When ordered didn’t have what wanted on 3 attempts which should have been highlighted to us before ordering. Waitress brought my main then had to wait over 5 mins before husband’s came. Ordered more drinks before main…. Ate main waited 5 mins then decided to go pay. Drinks were on way as we were leaving where I explained we had waited to long. Just looked at us…. No apology just made us feel we were in wrong. Needless to say we won’t be rushing back
The Farmers Arms – DurhamHad spa evening and charcuterie in bar food was tasty but service of drinks etc in bar was very slow
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleFood was really good , staff couldn’t be more helpful , polite creating a great atmosphere. We went when the special offer was on and restaurant was fairly fullso Unfortunately it did take longer for each course to come out, had to take the sweet home with us. This would not have deterred me however the table next to us arrived approx 10 minutes after us basically ordered similar food but there courses arrived 10 minutes before us which I thought rather annoying . All in all even for the full price value for money.
