This is now my local eatery, excellent service, good food relaxing atmosphere. Went for breakfast for the first time very nice.

30 October 2009. My partner took me there because he went there five years ago and the food and service was excellent. However last night we were so disappointed as the fish and chips were tasteless and the portions were small. In addition, the cafe looked unkempt and the cutlery was unclean. We will not be visiting there again!

We have been visiting the Lancashire Canal with some friends and have stopped at most of the Pub/Restaurants during our two week trip. The one that stood out to all of us was the Hand and Dagger for service and good English food, all the staff we encountered on both visits were very helpful and this is not the case in many pubs now a days. We found the little pub quaint and the surrounding area was beautiful as the leaves were changing colour and looked wonderful. We had some nice beers and one or two wine more than we should have but we were swept away by the warm and friendly atmosphere. Would recommend this place to anyone.

We love going to No 88 as they have the best Crispy Duck with pancakes anywhere! And we've eaten all over Europe, so that's saying something! The owners have always given us so much attention that whenever we had visitors to stay, we always took them to our favourite Chinese restaurant! Asha and Mandeep Nanra

We are a family of 3 adults from near Stockport and we called in La Doce Vita last October for their 'Early Bird' menu and had a lovely meal. We called again last week and had another lovely meal. It cannot be faulted. Excellent food with very good portions and the service cannot be faulted. Very good value for money.

After reading the comments on here i am very surprised. Myself and my partner visited on Friday evening, an I have not had a worse experience. Food was extremely outdated. Restaurant is shabby and all in all, I honestly felt I had gone back in time 20 years. I did not eat more than a taste of my main course, chicken was raw, the sauce made me feel nauseous. My partner was served melon in a monstrosity of an electric blue ice cream bowl, with a curly green straw protruding from it! I strongly recommend you don't waste your money here. On my way home I was expecting to look on sugarvine and peruse everyone elses' complaints. So i have to strongly disagree with the rest of the comments.

I had a take-away Muslim chicken curry from there and it was delicious. Tasty creamy sauce, lots of soft chicken and melt in the mouth potatoes. Ring your order through before collecting though as it takes up to an hour at peak times. Definitely worth the wait and the delay proves it's cooked fresh especially for you. Restaurant standard food to take home :)

We regularly eat at the Red Fort and it continues to be consistently excellent and we are never disappointed. Ahad and his team provide an excellent service and the food takes some beating!

Myself and husband together with sister and brother in law and her family have been to China Red many times what a superb place it is, friendly staff, delicious food and great atmosphere going again this weekend looking forward to it.

The best curry I have ever had. Highly recommended and also by any of my friends who have been.

having visited jade delight lastnite i would just like to say what a complete waste of money,from the outside jade delight looks unwelcoming and dingy and it doesnt get any better once through the doors,and the food,where shall i start.the prawn crackers were soggy,the chicken curry ,well i say curry?i mean water.the best dish by far in the "banquet" was the chips and that says it all,the puddings,if u can call em that,consists of dry pineapple,melon,orange segment and dry sponge cut that thin u can see through it,took my mrs and son and my son said,dad its horrible,and do u know wot,i certainly cud,nt argue with that.i felt my money had been taken off me under false pretences by a restaurant masquerading as a chinese banquet.been for a few meals in my time but this by far was the very worst.

We visited this lovely village pub for a Sunday evening meal after driving down the Blackpool Illuminations. We were made to feel very welcome by the staff and were greeted not only by warmth and atmosphere but also smiles :) I started my meal with the Chilli and BBQ Chicken wings which I can say were a brilliant twist to the regular BBQ Wings found in most other pubs, there were 6 large wings with plenty of meat on them and dressed with a fresh and crisp salad garnish. My husband started with the Homemade Garlic Mushrooms - again excellent presentation and very tasty indeed (i did pinch a few!) For our main meals I chose the Traditional Sunday Roast Pork served with a huge bowl of fresh vegetables cooked perfectly (not soggy!), 3 massive roast potatoes, new potatoes and a yorkshire pudding, not forgetting the obviously homemade rich gravy. My husband opted for a "Laurel and Hardy" or to others a 10oz rib -eye steak topped with lamb chops and 2 fried eggs served with chips and salad garnish... The fact that there was not a smidgen left speaks for its self, eggs cooked perfectly, steak full of flavour and cooked to his request, the lamb chops were meaty and juicy. Unfortunately we couldn't manage a pudding after such generous portions but have to say the puddings we saw coming out to other tables looked beautiful. We will definitely be stopping off again and have been telling our friends all week about "The Horns Inn" Garstang. 10 out of 10

We went in September and were really looking forward to it, there were four of us and we really enjoyed it. I had heard good and bad reports before hand but really i cant fault the place, the service or the food, and im a fussy eater!!!
