Knott End Cafe – Knott End-On-SeaVery clean, sensible prices, served with a smile. All the ingredients for a perfect service. A great place to get a meal while on the move or on a short break. Well done.
The Boardwalk – Poulton-Le-FyldeJust been in frenchmans cove what a pub had a massive mixed grill went back at night great dj and cheap drinks try the fish bowl cocktails
Frenchmans Cove – BlackpoolThis was our first visit to the Eagle and Child... and wow! The food was absolutely beautiful and there was plenty of it!! I even asked for a 'doggy bag'! The staff were excellent - polite and incredibly helpful. The price was excellent in relation to the quality of food. I can't rate this pub, proprietor and staff highly enough - we will definitely be going back soon.
The Eagle at Weeton – Kirkham8 of us ate at Ego to celebrate one of my girlfriend's birthdays. The restaurant is beatifully decorated both inside and out and the staff are extremely friendly. The bar staff let us taste the wine before choosing which I have not experienced before. The menu was interesting and we had no trouble deciding what to eat. We opted for several sharing boards as starters which were nicely put together and reasonable value for money. Not good value, reasonable value! I had Sea Bass as a main. It was cooked nicely but there wasn't a great deal of it. If you want anything to accompany your meal, you must order it separately. This does bump the price up though! The general consensus of opinion amongst our group of girls was that the food was OK. But no better. It's also expensive. That seems to be the opinion of everyone else I know who has been to Ego, with the exception of a couple of friends who have been there early enough to take advantage of the special offers. Which is a pity because it really is a lovely environment in which to eat. So if you are thinking of going, make sure you book in advance and get there in time to take advantage of the fixed price menus.
Ego Mediterranean Restaurant – LythamI took my family (two children included in the party) to this restaurant on 26th August for a birthday lunch. The surroundings are very pleasant to say the least but I do have to say the food didn't match up to the ambience of the restaurant. Two courses took an hour and forty to deliver. It is obvious that the establishment is too busy delivering it's "Rapido" menu at lunch time and if you are eating A la Carte be prepared for a considerable wait for food that can only be described as mediocre for the prices they charge. My main course was the pork saltimbocca which to be truthful was over cooked and dry, the parma ham surrounding the pork fillet was cremated in parts. The risotto which accompanied the dish was more than al dente. One of the party had boeuf Bourginon which had an overpowering flavour of smoked bacon, this in ifself obliterated the other flavours of the dish. I would have to say in fairness I would to return to try the rapido menu but would certainly spend my money elsewhere if it came to a la carte choices. In summary, mediocre food at high end prices. There are other eateries in Lytham that surpass Ego.
Ego Mediterranean Restaurant – LythamWhat a nice touch that the owner greets you when you get there - you can't say that about many restaurants at all these days. As for the food, it's superb. There is real attention to detail on the sauces, and you can tell that the ingredients are of the best quality. Try the prawn toast, they're the best ever, or the ribs from the starters. For mains i recommend the beef chow mein - the meat is so tender and tasty. You have to try this place it is the one of the best Chinese restaurants I've ever been to. Go now!
Ocean Palace – BlackpoolIt was my birthday today and when my daughter asked where I wanted to be taken for lunch (her treat) I said Blackpool for Fish and Chips - and the only place to go in Blackpool for the best Fish and Chips is 'The Cottage' After doing so she was suitably impressed - the meal was (as always) superb - In her own words 'The best Fish and Chips she had ever had' - but then again I knew that would be the case. Thankyou 'The Cottage' may you always prosper.
The Cottage – BlackpoolWhether you want a coffee and a cake, a snack or more substantial meal or maybe a glass of wine, then Java could be the place for you. It is simply but elegantly decorated and has a lovely atmosphere. There are always a couple of fresh flower arrangements which adds a lovely touch. I love the coffee (Illy) and the cakes are divine. The menu somehow manages to cater to whatever mood you are in and ranges from breakfasts through to sandwhiches, pizzas, salads and some delicious italian inspired mains. I've been many times and nearly worked my way through the menu. Nothing has disappointed me yet! And I really like the way they serve wine in decent glasses! On a nice day you can sit outside on the piazza and watch the world go by. Java is the only cafe in Lytham I now visit! Highy recommended!
Java – LythamWe have been going to this restaurant since it opened. It is excellent food, good value for money and the owners are always friendly and efficient. It has become a benchmark by which we measure other restaurants. Whenever we have anyone visiting, we always take them to the '88' for a meal. Our last visit was on 16/08/2009 and as expected the standard was excellent.
Eighty Eight Chinese Restaurant – LythamMyself and three friends went to China Red last Thursday evening and I would like to say what a brilliant time we had, the food was delicious and plenty of it,the staff very friendly and attentive. 10 out of 10 for China Red hope to go back soon.
China Red – Poulton-Le-FyldeWhat a great place is the Knott End Cafe. Brilliant food and service. Such friendly and efficient staff.
Knott End Cafe – Knott End-On-SeaDefinitely the best fish and chips we've eaten. Light batter and very juicy fish, although the "extra large haddock" (which was smaller than the "large cod"), wasn't really that large! The flavour and texture were spot-on though. Chips were delicious and there was no greasy after-taste, as is often the case with many fish restaurants (thick fatty batter). Highly recommended, but Whelans - please check out those portion sizes!
Whelans – LythamFabulous food & very friendly staff - definitely the best Thai restaurant in this area. Try number 44 if you want something hot, spicey & very special!
Banthai – St. Annes-On-SeaThe Highlands Is A Great Dining Experience, In Me And My Family's Opinion It Is One Of The Very Best Restaurants In Blackpool. The Food Is Fresh And Always Cooked To Perfection, With Choice From Steak, Fish, Pasta And Curry You Are Truly Spoilt For Choice. The Modern Decor Brings Out A Modern Vide About The Venue. The Furniture Is Well Placed And Is Too Comfy. The Toilets Are Clean And The Restaurants Hygiene Is Fantastically Unbelievable. From The Minute You Walk In The Door Friendly Staff Are Waiting To Serve You, And With An Atmosphere Of Excitement The Highlands Is Truly The Place To Dine. The Only Given Fault Of The Restaurant Is That The Food Is Cooked In A Lengthy Period Which Of Course, To Impatient Customers Could Be Irritating. The Cost Of The Meals And Drinks Are Not Exactly What Some Would Call Cheap, However It Is Reasonable If You Are Willing To Pay Those Extra Pounds For A Warm And Friendly Environment And A Dining Experience That You Will Most Definitely Remember, The Highlands Is Truly The Place To Be.
The Highlands – BisphamMy partner and I dined at Pipers last night and were delighted by the quality of the service and the food. Excellent value for money with a more than adequate wine list I will definitely be returning. The confit of duck pie was a rich flavoursome experience and the seared loin of venison with wild mushroom and oyster sauce was cooked to perfection. This, coupled with the charming ambience made this the best meal I have sat down to for quite a while.
Pipers – GarstangWow this place is great. The food is excellent too. The menu is fantastic. The interior slicker than Steve Mcqueen... The food is all fresh and cooked to order.
Ziggy’s Cafe Bar – BlackpoolWhat can I say the food was delicious, staff were attentive, wine was delicious (had the pinot gricio). Had a very enjoyable meal and will be recommending to all my friends and family.
