This was our first visit, and we had an enjoyable Mothers Day lunch. We were booked for 2pm. We arrived a little early. You pay downstairs. The lady said £48… when it was actually £47.98, but hey ho! She didn’t introduce the restaurant or offer any guidance… so we just headed upstairs! A server took our receipt and pointed out our table. Since it was our first time… a little guidance might have been helpful… but I guess it’s self explanatory… get plate. Get food! I enjoyed the food. I’m vegetarian and was worried by some reviews… but I had plenty to eat! I opted for udon noodles, mushrooms, broccoli, tofu, chips, and a few slices of pizza. All very tasty. In fact, mushrooms were amazing! The carvery looked disappointing… potatoes and carrots seemed to be the extent of it! I’m not a curry fan… so I didn’t try this. I tried a little mac cheese, which was a bit bland. Pizza was nice, but all gone when I went for another slice! Puddings pretty good… loved the Eton mess! Cleanliness was good… except maybe a few spills by the puddings. Overall, I enjoyed the food. It was £23.99 per head… maybe a little pricey… but I feel I got my money’s worth! Service wasn’t great for friendliness. But I could see staff working hard to keep food topped up and areas clean. Overall… I was happy enough.
