Another lovely meal, hot food and plenty of it. A bonus the weather was kind and we sat in the garden in the sunshine.

We enjoyed a great meal on the last day of our holiday. The seating options were excellent and the food was fantastic. We were seated quickly and the food was served about 15 minutes after we ordered, all was to a high standard. A great atmosphere and all in all, I would definitely recommend Chequers to friends and family. Our Beagle had a good time too! Many Thanks to a great team.

I booked a lunch for my mother‘s 88th birthday. We were served by Liz, who was absolutely delightful, very warm and friendly. The food was plentiful and delicious, and the atmosphere was very pleasant. My mum liked it so much that she booked a table of six next week for her and her friends to have a lunch. Thank you and enjoy the rest of the summer.

Very Friendly & didn't have to wait long for the Food. All Freshly Cooked & came over to ask if everything was okay. Never Been There before, will definitely be going Back. Would Recommend. First time visiting and whilst our reservation wasn’t on the list, the fabulous staff found a table for us and our dog. The food was delicious (Fish platter!), the service was outstanding and the surroundings were idyllic. We will certainly be returning in the near future and even looking to stay in the hotel too.

Went back here for our anniversary, 8 years after they hosted our wedding! They made us feel as welcome as always and the food was wonderful. This place has a special place in our heart and the staff on our most recent visit were courteous, friendly and went the extra mile.

Sadly it wasn’t a great experience. I presented my medical card stating I couldn’t eat an adult portion but told wasn’t accepted so had to pay full price! I only had a very small amount and that was unfortunately very dry and bland. Had to have a plate of fruit which some were on the turn. It was for my son’s birthday and we were disappointed

Queuing system when you have an autistic child was appalling. Booked in advance had email confirmation but greeter argued about whether we were booked and then the wait to get in was too long. Food was warm and some tasted dry or reheated. Will not be going again this is our 2nd time and both times were awful.

Very friendly service. Lovely food great size portions all fresh and piping hot.

What an amazing way to finish our day in Portsmouth. Caught our 7pm sailing home in a total food coma! Spoons itself is a lovely clean restaurant and the staff are friendly and helpful! The food…well not sure where to start (same feeling when there) so much choice, all tasted lush and was cooked so perfectly! And pudding belly was fully satisfied with the coconut jelly and chocolate fountain! Defo can’t wait to come back - Thank you Spoons!

Great service, lovely location. The Sunday roast was the best I’ve had for a long time. Excellent value for money.
