Basic Chinese buffet lunch, sometimes inferior quality meat, mostly deep-fried starters. OK for students but anyone interested in real Chinese food would be better off going elsewhere.

Water Margin – PortsmouthThe best place in the world. thank
The Shoulder of Mutton – HookI have been coming to this restaurant for nearly 30 years!! We now come at least twice a month. We have seen three changes in management/ownership but always the style and menu have remained pretty much unchanged. Their pizzas cannot be bettered in my opinion, their signature garlic bread is indulgent and delicious. The atmosphere is warm and easy going, child friendly but not Unruly. I cannot praise this unassuming, charming and soul satisfying little restaurant enough. It is part of our family tradition and we look forward to every visit.
Piccolo Mondo – Southamptonincredibly good value and service. never had a bad meal, nor heard one complained about. location is brilliant as well... worth the visit everytime
The Anchor Inn – SouthamptonThursday night is curry night. the curry is as good as anything else
The Vine – GosportVisited Monty's for dinner on 8 September and had a beautifully cooked and served meal. Starter, main and dessert all outstandingly good. Service friendly and good.
Monty’s Bistro – AltonMy favourite pub ! I love this place. the food is lovely and the staff are great, couldn't recommend it enough !
Titchfield Mill – FarehamWe visit Christina's about once a fortnight , usually on Sunday but sometimes during the week. Go for the Pensioners mostly with a bottle of wine. You just cannot beat the value for money and standard / quality of the meals. We live the other side of Southampton and willingly travel to it.
Christina’s Restaurant – SouthamptonThe best food in the area, great atmosphere, wonderful staff a must if you are in the vicinity.
Crown Inn – Everton – Lymingtonvisited this Fish Bar last Friday and found the chips awful, the fish very small and the man who worked there very rude. there are far better fish and chip shops to visit on the Isle of Wight, recommend avoid it.
June’s Fish Bar – Isle of Wightordered main meals for 2. 1st one arrived(both same choice) I and second one arrived whilst we were eating pudding. will not visit this establishment or recommend it to any one. in a word. Rubbish. The salmon was supposed to be wrapped in pancetta but it was bacon. pudding both good.
The Bridge – WinchesterExcellent pub with excellent food ,very popular get there early for the Carvery
Alma Inn – SouthamptonGood menus at reasonable prices and excellent service from charming young staff
Fish Inn – RingwoodWhat a find! We visited the Island to seek out any Michelin star restaurants. There was only one! The Hambrough and owned by chef Robert Thompson. The view from the restaurant was to die for and Thompson's signature dish "as we were told" of Smoked Eel was divine. We will definitely stay next time!
The Hambrough Hotel – Isle of WightTerrible place, no facilities for children, no where to change a baby. Food is overpriced. the service is appalling. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
The Sun Inn Dummer – BasingstokeService was very bad, no changing facilities for babies. Roast dinner veggies were cold and meat was over cooked and under seasoned. Staff were inconsiderate and didn't take the criticism very well. Shame really, we thought it was going to be good.
The Sun Inn Dummer – BasingstokeAfter hearing about this restaurant being one of the better ones on the IOW is decided to take my parents there for a night out. I can't say that it was the best I have visited and would go so far to say that I thought it was just average. I had to ask the waitress for glasses of water...The meals did not all come out together which is key in my opinion...There was a lot of clattering going on in the kitchen which we discovered was the veggies that we were supposed to have been enjoying with our dinner!!! They did show up eventually over cooked. Passed on dessert and just ordered coffee when the waitress finally showed up to ask...Not once did she come over and check that everything was OK....I would not have minded but since we were the first ones in the place I would have expected a little more attention to our comfort and a lot more care with the food for which we were paying for.
