Love this place. Lived here for 6 years and only discovered it last month. Been there twice now. So much choice and really tasty. High turnover so food always fresh.

Went out for a meal as four, booked it for 7:30pm arrived about 15 minutes early which we would have happily waited till 7:30. The man asked us what time we were booked in for and scoffed as we were slightly early and I mentioned we were happy to wait. He then signalled us to move across to pay. Confused as to what the price was as they have no pricing, and students apparently also don’t get it cheaper on saturdays she rudely pushed the card reader onto my phone. I was very confused and mentioned how it was abrupt and very rude to just tap it on my phone without me checking first. Food was ok, lots of it! Service as we walked up was quick and straightforward which was fine we got told the drinks are 1.50 for refillables which we later found out was 3.50. £21.99 for food and then an extra £3.50 for drinks? surely not. Staff were not very friendly, rudely collecting plates which we hadn’t even finished when told we were still eating they said sorry there is more up there ? the italian section was completely empty and the chocolate fountain was broken apparently when we asked and the lady doing our pancake looked like she’d seen a ghost when we asked if we could have more than one topping? probably won’t be coming back here for a while

Our second visit and once again we found attentive staff, great food, good portions, clean facilities, lovely pub all round. What more could you ask for?

Always a welcoming staff. Rapid and accurate service. Good food and well kept beer.

Could not fault this restaurant. Me and my family had a excellent experience. The food was delicious and we were spoilt for choice. Our 3 children of 12, 12 and 9 years old described it as ' being in a dream'. Fantastic service, used plates were quickly collected and nothing was too much trouble, very polite waiters/waitresses. We will definitely be back! Just could do with a little music in the air for atmosphere. Superb though.

Lovely old pub,relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff.Food was amazing.

Good food but cold. As soon as we got to the table the whole plate of food was cold which meant that it wasn't hot enough when we picked it up from the trays. Otherwise all was good

I don’t know the area, my partner does. I booked and took a sceptic to the platform - she is no longer a sceptic :) excellent menu and the food is top notch - just the friendliest staff and I’ve not felt at home like that in years - great food, live entertainment and a night to remember - well done the platform, this is how it is supposed to be done!!

Great food and amazing service

This was our first time here & the carvery roast was great Loads of meat, lots of choice, plenty of vegetables, which all tasted lovely, the gravy was outstanding and the ambiance in the pub was friendly, families welcomed & children catered for. Altogether a great little find & we will go back. I'm also happy to recommend to family & friends

We have been here a few times and it doesn't disappoint. we were welcomed as we went in the door. The food was tasty and arrived without too much of a wait. Waitresses were friendly and nothing too much trouble they reserved a fish pie for me as the rest of our party hadn't arrived and I was worried they would sell out !. Prices are reasonable. It would be nice to have one or two more vegetarian dishes. We will return when we are next in the area.

Amazing buffet. Almost everything is perfect in taste. Service was also good.

Had a lovely dinner here on Thursday night, for our group of five. Very reasonable prices, a good range of menu choices, and a friendly 'local pub' feel, in a great old building. A hidden gem.

A good experience but it was a shame that the grill meats were not available due to equipment malfunction. We will check all food offerings are available before we book again as this is one of our favorite accompaniments. We went for an earlier than normal sitting (18:00) and there was not much energy from staff who all seemed like they already had a long shift…
