Have eaten here probably 5 or 6 times, different days of the week and times and every time the food and service has been great, both when it’s busy and when a little quieter. I feel it’s probably the best pub food (and service) in the area now. Highly recommended.

I have been travelling over from Cheshire to Darwen for years to visit my mother and go out for lunch. We have struggled to find a brasserie style venue anywhere locally which looks good and serves high quality food and good wine - and is open for lunch. We have now found it. Service is always excellent, the decor inside and out is lovely and the food choices are always great. I hope this venue continues to get the custom it deserves so I can continue to have somewhere great to look forward to after a long driver over!

We booked a table last minute on our way back up the M6. Great service from all the staff. They were so friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. We will be back.

First visit to Bread and Butter for a Sunday Lunch but it will not be the last. Friendly staff made us welcome and service was very prompt. Only a small menu but enough to choose from. We chose to share some halloumi fries as a starter, which were delicious. For mains my partner opted for the lamb shoulder and I had the belly pork. Both cooked perfectly. An array of vegetables, also cooked the same. Finished off with just a scoop of ice cream each as we hadn't got room for anything more than that. A thoroughly enjoyable experience and looking forward to trying the Tapas menu one evening.

First visit in a long time and it didnt disappoint.

The service was good but the food was terrible. All the bread had been microwaved so was rock hard and inedible (on my son’s burger and our garlic bread). I had the trimmed chicken and it was so salty it was disgusting. I felt sick afterwards and was actually sick when I got home.

The food and service were very good. But the beverages including teas and lattes were not as hot as they should be.
