Lovely food in a beautiful setting. We stayed for 1 night and ate in the restaurant. Rooms were well presented, had everything you needed, the only gripe was not being able to open the bathroom window (room 10). Food was excellent, we had the pork trio, peppercorn chicken & the suet pudding, all amazing with brilliant service! Breaky was good quality products, although service at breakfast wasn’t as good, our toast arrived much later than the full English, it was still enjoyed though. Will be back!

Unfortunately our food was not good. Tortellini a la crème was surrounded in a watery sauce ,, the salmon pasta consisted mostly of pasta,,,, the lasagne was beyond hot and tasteless ,,,, Chicken livers to start which were mainly mush,, The staff seemed to have a “canteen attitude “ of placing all drinks at the front of the table and walking off and they were not particularly friendly Did get a refund on the Tortellini but won’t return ,, Have had nice meals there in the past ..

Small family reunion (6 of us). Lovely lunch. Staff there when you needed them, otherwise left us alone to reminisce! Will definitely go back soon for another catch up

As always, the staff were welcoming and friendly, providing excellent service. The food was very well cooked and prepared. Overall and excellent dining experience which was excellent value for money. I will most definitely be returning.

Table for 8, the food was amazing. Braised lamb with chilli mash beautiful, braised beef stroganoff beautiful, fish pie heavenly and bacon chop was like a tomahawk steak. We all had a fab meal and the staff were excellent. It's our 4th visit and shall be returning. X
