Assheton Arms – ClitheroeHad an excellent lunch here today. And I also really enjoyed hearing the passion of the owner has for food and clean, healthy, organic food. Everything is made in-house and I took some of their gorgeous bread away. if you care about what you put in your mouth and where it comes from then eat here. They now have bedrooms too!
Greendale View Kitchen and B&B – ClitheroeWe have been coming to the canal turn since moving to Lancaster. The staff and owners cannot do enough for you! They have looked after us at ever step wether it be with their delicious food, fantastic entertainment or just a quick win on an evening walk. I could not recommended this place enough. Harriot, Steve & Murphy
The Canal Turn – CarnforthGREAT SETTING & GREAT PUB JUST 6 MINUTES OFF THE M6 MOTORWAY & GLUTEN FREE AVAILABLE TOO Having driven across from Newcastle I pulled off the motorway and less than 6 minutes drive from the M6 found this great pub in a superb tranquil setting on the canal. It seems that food is served all day which is brilliant and I had a delicious chicken burger (all chicken breast) on a gluten free bun with home made gluten free onion rings - the kitchen went out of their way to cater for me as a Coeliac (thank you). Plus as I was driving during my 2 days in the area I enjoyed a pint of lime & soda and was not charged excessively for it. I also chatted at the bar with a few locals who were friendly and seemed to welcome a stanger - they also told me that the beer was superb since the new management had taken over - always good to hear and the mark of a good pub if the locals drink there in my opinion. Wallings are a local ice cream company I have not heard of but they certainly produce great Ice Cream & The Canal Turn does a big tasty selection - I enjoyed one or 2 flavours! I actually went back to The Canal Turn the next night as it was "Take Out Tuesday", it seems the kitchen is closed on a Tueday night (they serve food from 9:30am so when else would they get time to do a deep clean) so I could get some indian food sent in from a local Indian Restaurant to eat in a relaxed pub atmosphere, a great idea in my opinion. It was also lovely as the sun shone to sit outside on what looks like new tables/benches and just watch the world go by with a drink - very relaxing by the canal. I could imagine it could also be lovely on a crisp winters day wrapped in a blanket with a drink or hot chocolate taking it all in. A selection of the days newspapers was a lovely touch too. I would like to think I will be back and would recommend a visit if you are in the area
The Canal Turn – CarnforthLooks like this place is under new ownership and has closed for a refurb for a few months.
Ye Horns Inn – PrestonHad a lovely lunch here. Halloumi panini with side salad. i'll have a cheeky drink next time too!
The Arches – BlackburnWould like to pass on our thanks for a lovely meal on Saturday 23rd June. Our meal was somewhat late in arriving, but the quality of the meal and your friendly and hospitable staff made the evening. We could see you we're clearly very busy and appreciated the effort you made.
Da Vinci’s – ChorleyGreat pub, great restaurant in gods county Lancashire!
Derby Arms – LongridgeMy partner and I came for an evening meal, celebrating a birthday, the food was delicious, I would recommend the st. Jacques scallops and lamp rump, it was cooked to my liking. We had mentioned the birthday on booking and had arrived to the table being dressed with a personalised reserved sign, 2 glasses of complementary prosecco with strawberries and received a hand written dessert plate with chocolates. I will definitely be returning with friends and family.
The Brasserie – LancasterA real gem of a place. Artisan coffee with quality and healthy food options. An ethical cafe with a very friendly young team and owner. If you love top end coffee, go there!
Town House Coffee & Brew Bar – PrestonGorgeous lunch! chicken piri pri wrap with fries. Tasty and filling in very nice surroundings!
Piri Piri – OrmskirkWhat a lovely pub. This is not a part of the world I’m too familiar with and this had more the feel of a Cotswold pub rather than one in Lancashire. Packed on an overcast Sunday and easy too see it draws in people from miles around (as Bispham Green is fairly out of the way).
Eagle And Child – OrmskirkVisited this Restaurant for grandsons birthday celebrations and mother’s day treat. What a fantastic find the food was wonderful in every way! The staff were so attentive and lovely with the children.x We will return.
Da Vinci’s – ChorleyWent for dinner at the (new look) Italian Orchard last Sunday and was very impressed. They have revamped the entrance and bar area and with the open fire it’s a great spot to sit and peruse the menus (and peruse them you need to). The specials are just as extensive as the main a la carte and if you’re into your wine there’s loads of (all-Italian) bottles to choose from. I had the Pasta Rustica and my wife the Stroganoff and both thoroughly enjoyed. Great atmosphere as always and a pianist playing. Worth the journey.
Italian Orchard – PrestonExcellent ragu at Essenza. New owner a real foodie with a passion for authentic Italian food and ingredients.
Essenza Italian Ristorante – ChorleyLoved our food and the place. A cool restaurant to go in Preston though we are from Lytham. Will definitely go back!
We Don’t Give A Fork – PrestonAbsolute gem of a pub, right up our street this one!!!!! Really friendly staff, my favourite ale (Windermere pale ale), superb food, great steak deal and dog-friendly ( gave our dog a nice pile of cold-cut beef!). Wish it was near our gaff!!!!
Dressers Arms – ChorleyOne of my all time favourite places. Old fashioned in a good way. Best duck in the UK I'm sure. Now has a brewery and great beer too!
