Visited this restaurant again this week, excellent food & service. We have been several times and standard is always the same - very high. Have dined off al a carte in past but this week had TDH and food was the same high quality with good sized portions. Can't fault anything, give it a try!

This has got to be the best by far! I am coeliac and have never been treated or greeted so well in a restaurant since I was diagnosed 5 years ago. The food was excellent as was the choice. A very friendly, helpful and value for money meal. We enjoyed the ambience and the atmosphere. What a pleasant surprise we shall certainly be returning soon and I plan to organise a trip over bringing with me folks from the Manchester group of the coeliac society. Thanks Rachael and to all your staff too we had a perfect evening.

Having been previously spoiled when living in Halifax with excellent Italian "Da Sandros", I have been in search of at least a half decent one in the Burnley/Fence/Barrowford area for years. Some have come and gone and never been any good. Now to Zio's we hadn't been for 3 years as we thought it fairly poor last time, but recent recommendations have led us to go back, and we have now been back 3 times in as many weeks. Excellent Food, well cooked. Great Service. Need I say any more. Going there again tonight for the starter and pizza/pasta offer for £9.95 mid week deal. Mmmmm

My partner and I both chose the Chicken and Leak pie and it was excellent. Last time I was here it was just a small cafe with a few tables. Now they have extended considerably with a restaurant at the rear. It all has a really nice feel as it is a former Barn and is in rural green surroundings. They have a great little function room which is a stand alone building with its own wood burning oven and 360 views. Well worth a visit.

Fair play to Papa Luigi's for accommodating our large, noisy (2 screaming toddlers!) party on a Friday night. However, while the food was tasty and well cooked, 2 moans - 1) we weren't offered the option of the advertised Set Menu for £10 - even though we were seated an hour before the offer finished and 2) portions were quite small for the prices, especially some of the vegetarian options (nearly £6 for a small plate of melon slices??!!). I'd advise anyone looking to eat here for a romantic dinner for 2, to stay well clear on a Friday or Saturday night - the place was packed with families and large groups!

Nila is the very best Indian restaurant I've ever had experience of. I've been visiting there over many years although not regularly. The food is always of high quality, the service is excellent and they really care about giving good service. They are all extremely pleasant and courteous. Their food is not overpriced either and if my budget allowed, I would be there every week! Thank you Nila for the pleasant evenings I have had there with my daughter Nicola.

A very mediocre experience.. The food is average, a little overpriced (the drinks especially so), and the service is not very attentive (my wife had to ask for the correct cutlery for her meal). In addition, the 'optional' service charge was added to the bill, making it a compulsory service charge. Surely it should be up to the customer to decide the value of the service, not the restaurant. Overall, quite disappointing.

Hi Sandra and All the Staff at The Barbon Just wanted to say again 'many thanks for this weekend'. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with you even though we nearly drank you dry of carver !!! The food, accommodation and staff were fantastic and a great weekend was had by all. I certainly have many happy memories of my 50th Birthday and will certainly return to The Barbon again (once i have had chance to diet a bit !!!).

Visited Thyme Houghton for first time last night to celebrate my birthday with my lovely husband. The restaurant is quite small and intimate and for a Tuesday night was about three quarters full when we left. The service was very attentive and friendly. We had a canape each of miniature Yorkshire pud with delicious roast beef and gravy. warm bread rolls were also served. Hubby ordered chicken livers and I had rabbit and ox cheek stew served in a small pot with 2 small slices of ciabatta and raspberry sauce. Didn't care for the sauce much but both starters were delicious. For mains hubby had assiette of meat, rump, sirloin and mutton, served with 3 different flavoured mash and delicious meat gravy. I had silver hake with caper butter, I absolutely loved this meaty fish served with chorizo and mash and selection of well cooked but boring, julienne carrots, brocolli, cauliflour and new potatoes. For sweet hubby had pear and wine just tart tattin with ice cream and I had white chocolate cheesecake with white choc ice cream. The whole meal was a delight and with two soft drinks we paid £37 - mind you we did use our hi-life card which gave us one main and one starter free. Would definitely recommend this restaurant and hope to visit again soon. They also do a special menu at £14.95 for three courses, served all night. Off the a la carte, starters £8, mains £18 - £20 and sweets £7

The Sirloin Inn – Preston

Quite simply the best meal I've had in Lancaster ever, this is a hidden gem with superb service, beautiful plates of food, a relaxed atmosphere and care given to every detail. Would definitely recommend :)

We visited Shajan last night and although the food was acceptable the overall experience was somewhat underwhelming. The restaurant is clearly popular but for my mind far too many people are packed in to far too small a space. There are too many waiters dashing around the place, tables are too close together and the ambiance is claustrophobic. The overall impression is one of being on a conveyor belt and no sooner you settle than the feeling of being moved on sets in.

My wife and I had an excellent meal in the Duke of York a couple of weeks ago. The menu was interesting and imaginative and the food was cooked to perfection, with outstanding flavours and quality. The wine list complimented the menu perfectly with a good range to suit all tastes and pockets. It is well worth a visit and one of the best places to eat in the Ribble Valley.

A truly unique venue, delicious meal was had by all of us and the staff were very friendly and efficient. The seafood in particular was very well cooked and presented beautifully the scallops and fillet a good combination of flavours. We shall most definitely be back soon, to have even more sangria
