Paid our first visit to Amelie's with our best friends this lunchtime; it certainly won't be the last. From the minute we walked in the whole experience was a delight. The service was warm, friendly and natural, the ambience was relaxing, the food topnotch and imaginative and beautifully prepared, and the attention to detail was remarkable. Before retiring I worked in the customer service field, so I can be quite critical. Here you sense how customers are valued and that their concern for you is genuine. Thank you for making our visit special.

I went here last night for a meal with a couple of friends. I've been here twice before and have to say this time the overall night (food & service) seemed so much better i will be returning soon. thank you

Recently enjoyed a fantastic meal at the Yew Tree and also the dulcet tones of a Michael Buble tribute singer. The food and service was so good, I decided to have lunch there as well the day after! It's a must visit if your are in the area.

We had our daughters christening at Tinos. The function room was lovely, service was excellent and everyone commented on how delicious the food was. Had a fantastic day and would certainly recommend Tinos Restaurant.

Having been to The Three Fishes at Mitton before, I thought of trying the Clog and Billycock for a change. This meal was nowhere near the same quality as the sister establishment. We had to order our own food at the bar which, considering the prices, was a very strange arrangement. As starters we ordered fish cakes and parsnip fritters. Although the fish cake was tasty the portion was absolutely tiny which was not helped by the lack of an inclusive bread basket. The parsnip fritters were simply deep fried parsnip chunks with what seemed like an off the shelf dip. For mains we ordered Rib Eye Steak which when presented was a very poor cut of meat for the £20 price. Although the steaks were ordered medium-rare they were grossly undercooked and I cannot believe the resident chief was on duty that night. The steak dish did not include any veg and was simply served with chips and onion rings, the mushroom was missing. The other main course, spinach pancakes again, came with absolutely no veg or even a salad garnish. On the positive the wine, beers and coffee were all very good as was the service apart from bar ordering, however food of this quality did not match the price that the dinner cost and I would definitely not recommend the Clog and Billycock.

I have eaten at Truffles on countless occasions, and it has always been fantastic. I`m writing this recommendation because i`m going to the Thai night with my friends, and I`m so excited about it that I was reading the menu again and saw this link. Try this restaurant! the food is beautiful, especially the gourmet nights...I promise that you will never have had anything like it. Also,I used to work there so I know that the kitchen is spotless and the food is all fresh and home cooked...right down to the petit fours which I hated making. Anyway, I can`t think of a better recommendation that one from someone who has seen all the goings on and still counts this restaurant as far and away the best. So thank you James is advance for the fantastic meal that we`ll be having on Friday, but no thanks for ensuring that I whinge about every other meal I go out for, as I compare it to those at Truffles.

We held our Wedding Reception at Tinos and haven't stopped receiving compliments. As a fussy' bride to be' Tinos were more than accommodating; giving lots of advice and reassurances. Their professionalism shone through on the night and every request was dealt with in a 5 star manner. The chefs laid on what I can only describe as the most stunning mouth watering food that made for an unforgettable Wedding party. The champagne and canape reception was a fabulous start to the evening and set the scene for our Casino themed event. We still can't believe how they delivered a high end service, beyond expectation, at such a reasonable price. If you are looking for a venue for that special occasion then Tinos should be on your shortlist.

Had a really nice lunch at pond today, we chose the chefs tasters absolutely delicious, we had visited duk previously and thought that nothing would be as good but i have to say that both are excellent. I will be recommending both far and wide and i shall look forward to visiting again soon. We are very intrigued by freds shed they say its coming soon it sounds exciting these people are obviously talented and creative with names, i for one cant wait to see what it is.

Pleasant and warm surroundings. Dropped in for a pot of tea and scone and received a lovely welcome from the owner who has owned the business with her mother for over 50 years.

I was over from Switzerland to celebrate my mother's 90th birthday and also my sisters 65th in the two weeks I stayed we did visit Mr, Chans restaurant 3 times and I must say the meals we had were very good. Mr.Chan is such a nice person and I know I will be going to eat there again next time I'm over. Thank you very much for 3 lovely evenings and the excellent food.

Went recently as a party of 6 adults & 2 children could not fault the presentation or quality of the food but, when you are paying £16 for a salmon fillet and that's all that come and with no vegetables or potatoes which are extra then it's pricey. Refer to the main menu regarding vegetables & potatoes as it wasn't on the specials menu.

Spread Eagle – Clitheroe

Good homely atmosphere with good food & beers at sensible prices. Beware, dogs are allowed into the pub where diners are eating.

Assheton Arms – Clitheroe

Good impressions on entering the restaurant as the decor and dining area is stunning. We wanted a drink before we sat down but realised there is no room set aside for this unless you are happy to stand at the bar. Both my partner and I decided on the Sunday lunch special (3 courses for £19.50). Mushroom soup and Goats cheese tart were both very nice and fresh. The two main courses of Haddock/Langoustine gratin and Pork with Apple sauce were satisfactory but not great. Deserts of Stewed rhubarb and the cheeseboard were again satisfactory without being memorable. With the wine we ordered the meal cost £60.00 in total and I am not sure if was value for money. Style over substance springs to mind unfortunately. The staff were excellent and friendly but let themselves down on one point. As we were eating our main course late on a member of staff started cleaning the tables around us. We decided we probably would return at some point as we like to give second chances but we won't rush back.

The restaurant decor was quite nice, but the bar was self service and I felt that the price for water and accompaniments was way over the top, considering the prices which were charged for what I found to be quite average food. Overall, the food was ok but not worth what they were asking. In my opinion if someone is happy to pay these prices for Indian food, the Indian gourmet evening at truffles restaurant in whittle-le-woods is definitely superior.
