I was pleasantly surprised by the restaurant. Having just moved into the area we have passed it many a time, to be honest it doesn't look much from the outside. We hadn't booked so had a wait a little while for a table. The staff seemed a little frantic and service was slow to arrive, however when we were served they were pleasant and courteous. The food was obviously freshly prepared and wonderfully tasty. I had an old favourite....calamari as a starter, when it arrived it was plainly fresh as it wasn't the usual battered rings, but well prepared squid slices in a lovely salt and pepper coating. I had the goats cheese and parma ham pizza for main and it was divine! the base was perfect and the topping was well thought out and delicious. Hubby's T-bone steak was tender and cooked to perfection. We finished with a real Italian espresso, we will definitely be going again.

I visited the Yew Tree after high recommendations from friends and i certainly wasn't disappointed! The setting for a start is picturesque, the atmosphere created by the candles is very warming and relaxing, the food was delicious especially the chefs signature dishes which looked as good as they tasted. The service was very efficient and friendly, definitely worth a second visit!!!

Fresco Fresco is by far my favourite restaurant! The service is excellent. The family make you feel very welcome and treat you very special indeed. As for the food! It's just delicious! Every traditional Italian dish you can think of plus a wonderful specials menu too! There is fantastic selection of wine and very reasonably priced. Try it - you must! You won't be disappointed.

Probably one of the most outstanding meals I have experienced, the service the food was second to none. The place does get very busy which only adds to the fantastic Italian atmosphere. Only minor criticism bar area quite Smokey, but this should not detract from a very special evening.

Giovanni and the guys here are always pleased to welcome you, the food is excellent and only bettered by the ambience. It? always a treat to spend the evening here. Highly recommended.

The ambience was rather bland however very relaxed for a lunchtime. The food was outstanding even though it is cooked by the college students which is surprising and because of this the price is ridiculously cheap on £2.50 for a main course - a bargain!

This was the first visit to the Yew Tree, what a fantastic place, Top food, with the back up of service and price. Well Done Looking forward to my next trip up north.

Congratulations, the yew tree is a fantastic pub whether for social or business. Paul the manager gives the place a real buzz. The bar staff are very friendly and the food was out of this world. Linda the head waitress is a real personality and makes the whole experience worthwhile.

The Viceroy may not be the smartest place around but you will have to go a long way to beat the food. The owner is there every night making sure his customers are happy. We have been going for years - superb. Dressed up or casual makes no difference. 8/10

There has been an Inn there since the late 19th Century, although it looks nothing like it now The Wellsprings is a charming place and the variety of their cooking and choice in beverage is highly recommended. The ambience and the views of the Ribble Valley make it a place to visit time and time again.

Superb service from very friendly staff. Food excellent and very good value. Highly recommended.

Dinner at Hipping Hall was excellent. The restaurant's 15th century dining room is stunning. The ambience aided by the log fire and exposed beams. Well spaced tables with very comfortable chairs, dressed with quality cutlery, crockery and glassware. The food matches the surroundings - visually appealing, luxurious, well composed dishes with strong clear flavours. The staff are friendly and knowlegabe people. The hall also has very stylish and comfortable bedrooms. After a good nights sleep the full english breakfast carried the quality from the evening. A very enjoyable stay, the first of many.

The Yew Tree has had a good reputation for many years, however since the recent change of management it has improve from a good restaurant to a fantastic restaurant. I would highly recommend the Yew Tree anybody whether its for a business or pleasure.

I enjoyed a tasty lunch at this Lancashire gastropub in the hills of Chorley. The very thick chips were spot on!

Hi, Popped into Balti Stan with our two children whilst visiting Lancashire and we were not disappointed. The food and service were superb, we would definitely recommend a visit. Naan bread to die for, so I would order plenty, the children loved it. Ex Pats - Alnwick, Northumberland.
