6 of us visited for lunch, the food was really impressive and the service great. Table was slightly small but nothing to complain about. Will return.

Lovely food, and great selection. Just be aware that they try and charge you an ‘optional’ surcharge when you pay for food and again when you pay for drinks. It’s only when I asked that they told me it was optional.

After a lovely meal there a couple of weeks ago we took our son on Monday evening. So disappointing . I had raved about the pie of the day but they had none at 6 in the evening. Likewise no fish and chips. We ordered the Brie sharing starter which came cold and solid. Our mains came in various stages. We asked for condiments and the salt pot was delivered smeared in tomato sauce. It’s such a shame that this lively little bar restaurant is so inconsistent. On our previous visit Sam was the manager and he was brilliant, tentative and entertaining and made sure service was good. The staff are young and perhaps some are more experienced than others but no excuse for food not being available at 6 in the evening. Come on Snug and Chatter - you can do so much better! My ratings are best on this visit.

Great place - food is amazing and such a great atmosphere. We came here for Sunday lunch with friends, the staff are so friendly and attentive. The best Sunday dinner we have eaten out in a long time.

Love Sunday Lunch at the Royal Oak. Always feel the portion size is excellent certainly never leave feeling we haven’t eaten enough. Love that I can take my dog

Table was booked in advance and worked perfectly Also we pre ordered food and again this was carefully checked on arrival and worked perfectly

The variety of salads is low and the quality of pizza and Indian food is not very good

The service was great and we think it’s good value for money…we plan to return in a couple of weeks time. However! You absolutely need to make sure that the Bao Buns are topped up! In the 2 hours we were there, not one of the table of 6 of us managed to get any, despite numerous trips to keep checking. I hope this is corrected before we return in a couple of weeks time.

The rump was divine, the only thing which let it down was the chilli beef, really chewy, which stood out as not very nice from all the other well cooked meats

Visiting Hull to see family, we visited Banarasi looking forward to a few laughs and a pleasant dining experience. We were certainly not disappointed by the food or service, both of which were excellent. The mains were superb and the staff were super attentive to our every need. Sadly the night was let down by a member of our entourage dressing like a scarecrow (again) and generally displaying the brainpower of a diseased goose. Still, the Rogan was superb. Thanks

We are regular visitors to Brooke’s and we’re never disappointed. The food, atmosphere and most of all the service is excellent. The food is both delicious and imaginative. Can definitely recommend and it’ll not be long before we’re enjoying another meal there.

Booked a party of five for the festive menu. Food was piping hot and the service was discreet. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Highly enjoyable.

Excellent lunch in a friendly pub . Spacious dining room, friendly staff and interesting menu. We have been before and will come again.

Wonderful, well flavoured and spiced (rather than just pure heat) food. Well presented and good front of house service.
