This particular trip to Tocketts was on Xmas Eve at 3pm We were sat in the conservatory and it was cold so much so I had a fleece over my legs and shoulders. We did not choose the conservatory and would not wish to be seated there again in cool/cold weather Our main issue was the wait for food once ordered. We waited 1 hour 30 minutes for the food to reach our table. While I appreciate they were busy there should have been enough staff to cover the extra work! Saying that though our food was nice and up to their usual standard

Great service and amazing food!

Booked a table in advanced for Xmas eve, also my partners birthday. Clearly stated on the booking form that gluten free was a requirement. Ordered drinks when we sat down and was handed menus that offered nothing gluten free. I said that I had stated this on the booking form, didn't get much of a reply. I asked if they could change the fish and chips or the parmo to gluten free, which is not difficult and was met with oh no we can't do that. It's not an alien concept! You need to get with the times.

Service was subpar and staff were generally just rude. Table wasn’t cleaned. Food was just okay and our garlic bread was solid as a rock.

Out of the 4 meals only 1 was not keen . The veg tasted reheated and Luke warm Overall the food tho for the other 3 meals was good. The service let it down to be honest as it was so slow. We waited 50 minutes for the food and had to ask where it was and the drinks also was very slow. I would recommend people to come tho as it was a lovely atmosphere and good value for money

Excellent food Excellent service. The restaurant is really well set out with enough space between all the tables so you didn’t feel squashed in. There was no rush at all at any point very relaxed, will definitely come again.

We were here for Christmas eve dinner as a couple and the service was amazing, the food was incredible and the prices were very good. The Steak & Ale Pie was the best I've had and overall everything was brilliant We'll definitely be back for more

We use this restaurant regularly and until Christmas Eve have never had cause to complain. The restaurant was busy, atmospheric and staff lovely however the flow of food from the kitchen was slow, non existent at times. Nobody in the restaurant was eating and the mood changed. Our meal was serviced 90 minutes after placing the order and that was 1 minute from the deadline we had before leaving. It was a reduced menu so this should have been planned and organised. Two of our meals were lovely mine however was very poor, the fish was well cooked but had been dumped straight on the plate so the peas and chips were swimming in grease. I ate the fish flesh and left everything else as soggy chips and batter are not acceptable. Your only saving grace is the frontline staff who must have put up with so much that night, they remained pleasant and polite. Your manager, I actually felt quite sorry for him as it was obvious he knew everybody was unhappy, tried to dissolve difficult situations. We will go back in the future but only because of previous visits, had this been the first it would have been a different story.

Worst meal we have ever had. Waited 1:15 for it. Parmo burnt. Two cod and chips absolutely swimming in oil had to drain it off ourselves into pots. Chops so soggy in oil. Management aware thought it was juice from peas ! Advised not happy with meal got a slightly reduced bill. The 3 meals should have been removed due to the state of them. I know staff are busy on Xmas Eve but please management don’t take too many bookings that the staff and under pressure and can’t cope. Also we were freezing in the conservatory area and if we were advised of that we would not have booked Service staff were lovely not their fault

We did the breakfast with Santa and what an amazing, magical morning it was. I have been before for food and just always have such a lovely experience. Great food, great atmosphere and friendly staff.
