East z East – Manchester City CentreI regularly visit the Fisherman's Retreat because I like the fact you get good quality home-made food that is cooked well and tastes fantastic. I think it is something to be proud of (and boast about) if you are able to provide customers with freshly prepared traceable produce - more and more people are interested in where their food comes from and what goes into it nowadays - they no longer want to be fed rubbish and the Fisherman's rises to this challenge. I think the restaurant itself is extremely warm and welcoming - the staff are extremely friendly and helpful, the owners are normally around to say hi and welcome you to their establishment, and the roaring fires in winter make you want to stay the night! I noticed that someone commented on how the family pictures made the restaurant feel like they were entering someone's home - well in a way they are. The family have built the restaurant from scratch and made it the success it is today - I am proud to be welcomed into their 'home' and thoroughly enjoy looking at the pictures that tell the story of how the place has developed over the years. I hope the restaurant is there to be enjoyed for many more years, and plenty of pictures are taken to remember it all! Thanks.
The Fisherman’s Retreat – RamsbottomJust wanted to give a reply to Tim in my defence - The comments on the menu aren't meant to be smug, just quite humorous and an indication of the fact that unlike large chains we are able to inject our own real thoughts and comments into our menu (appealing to many, but not all I agree). Coincidence that you should think the place is like someone's home as when we finished building the place most of our furniture and pictures from home went into the restaurant as our bank pulled out on us at the last minute. Feeling homely was accidental, but has worked for the last 14 years. Finally show me somewhere that's serving their own beasts, butchered by them, with the knowledge of all the food on the plate and we'll not promote the issue so much!
The Fisherman’s Retreat – RamsbottomI came across this place a few years ago and although I don't live on the doorstep, I visit when I get the chance. Great to see on the last visit (last weekend) that there have been some changes, but there is no decline in quality and the steaks are still brilliant. I don't know of any other restaurateur who can give the name of the animal you are eating, or which field your veggies came from!
The Fisherman’s Retreat – RamsbottomBeen here a few times the service is fairly attentive, and friendly. There are special touches like frozen glasses for the beer! The food is fresh and tasty, and I believe if you go early on they still do their earlybird deals.
Caffe Nero – Manchester City CentreMy first experience of Mexican cuisine. I really enjoyed the food. The dishes were simple yet very satisfying and the price was very reasonable.
Barburrito – Manchester City CentreThis is my third visit to Nutters and yet again the food and service was excellent. The hardest thing to do is decide what to choose from the fabulous menu. If i was to offer some criticism it would be that there was no liquid sauce in the centre of my dessert which has happened before. I must say though that when we mentioned this we were given them free, First Class
Nutters Restaurant – RochdaleAbsolutely fabulous.
Gio Ristorante – Manchester City CentreReally good service, food and venue. Thankfully non smoking now.
Gaucho – Manchester City CentreI visited Gaucho on Thurs 15th Feb with my boyfriend. We had heard that the food was great but the service wasn?. We were pleasantly surprised by both, the food was absolutely out of this world, the steak just melts in your mouth! The service was great too.. very attentive without being too 'in your face'. I loved this place and will be returning very soon!!! Would definitely recommend for a special occasion!
Gaucho – Manchester City CentreThis is the best Indian restaurant on the Curry Mile. The food is top-quality, the service is responsive and respectful, and the atmosphere is buzzing on the weekends.
Shere Kahn – RusholmeWent for lunch on Saturday with my mum and daughter (4). Set price lunch £6.95 for 1 course £9.95 for 2 courses was excellent value. Menu included salads, pizza, pasta and risotto. Shared Chili Sirloin Pizza smoked haddock risotto with my mum. Both were delicious but in particular the risotto which was topped off with a beautifully poached egg. The little madam had the kids meal which was great pizza and proper ice cream. Will be back to try the a la carte in the evening.
Alberts Shed – Manchester City Centrei loved this place but the atmosphere has changed since azad the manager left since his departure the restaurant has released a new menu which is pricey and the food is satisfactory. need to do more to get back the standard maintained by the previous manager. I still will be loyal to my favourite haunt. good luck to the new manager & staff.
La Tandoor – RochdaleHaving eaten here I feel my search for the best Indian restaurant in Manchester is over, I have simply stopped looking. Fantastic food, excellent service, superb staff and very well priced, an absolute pleasure to visit and the staff make you feel as if it is their pleasure to serve you.
New Far Pavilion – SwintonIn spite of the recommendations on Sugarvine we happened upon this restaurant by a bit of good fortune. I seem to remember reading something about the unusual menu and was intrigued. We have been coming to Red Chilli for several years now and have never been disappointed. The food is great, the service is spot on and the whole atmosphere is fantastic. I would recommend this place to anyone that enjoys spicy Chinese food. My advice is to be imaginative. The seabass dishes or the claypots are a good place to start. By the way, Red Chilli in Leeds can't hold a candle to this place. The food is fine but the atmosphere is far too stuffy.
Red Chilli – Manchester City CentreTHE BEST ONION BHAJIS GOING WORTH A TRIP JUST FOR THEM. THE BEST
Moon Indian Restaurant – DidsburyDinning out in Manchester just got Much Much better. Entertainment...Excellent service .. Exceptional food . A MUST TRY FOR SOMETHING DIFFERENT. Marchello .Manchester
Sapporo Teppanyaki Manchester – Manchester City CentreWe eat here approx once a fortnight as it's conveniently on our doorstep, and we are never disappointed. The menu is really amazing, especially considering the Three Arrows just looks like a local pub from the outside. The award winning food is even more amazing... our favourites include the steaks (huge steaks cooked to perfection) a recent 'special' of lamb, corned beef hash (better than you'd ever imagine!) Garlic bread (with a twist) bangers and mash, brilliant Sunday dinners and puddings to die for... I? not a fan of seafood, but I? often amazed by the mussel bar and lobsters being brought to tables around me! The prices are very reasonable also... considering its normal to pay those kind of prices in other establishments, only to be served bland frozen food... there's not a frozen meal in sight at the Three Arrows!
