We enjoyed the evening and loved the pie of the day, well, at least the shortcrust pastry. However there was hardly any beef in the pie itself. A great disappointment but we will return.

We had a nice meal ,but very disappointed with the NEW menu. The starters of our choice had run out and it was only 7.15pm. ( spicy prawn cocktail) No mushroom with steak meal ! We thought it was tad pricey. Probably won’t be back till the menu changes. Service was good , girls were friendly.

I have not had one bad or disappointing dining experience at this beautiful Gastro Pub. The food is divine, whether you’re eating from their weekly evening Menu or Sunday Roast Menu. The staff are alway attentive, and the atmosphere so welcoming, cosy and relaxing. Would highly recommend!

This was our second visit to the Hopping Hare for their excellent taster menu. Each course on both trips has been a joy, beautifully presented and amazing tastes. Really good value for money with attentive and friendly service. We will definitely be returning.

We go to the hopping gate because the quality of the food and service is better than ANY equivalent gastropub in the area. Any special ocassion we go to the hopping hare.

We went for Sunday lunch , one of us had the roast and 2 went for the venison pie and one the vegetarian lattice , all the meals were served with the roast lunch trimmings, including Yorkshire puddings . All were beautifully presented and delicious. The puddings were also delicious. We will certainly be returning.

My first visit on Sunday with a friend for 'Sunday Lunch', I will certainly be going back, delicious beef roast, served hot and beautifully presented. The staff were attentive and friendly.

Excellent meal. We had beef and chicken. Very tasty and service was prompt. Brownies and cheesecake were also excellent.

We went on 4th Oct, 6 of us, to celebrate my birthday. The waitress realised it was one of our birthdays, and asked which one. The service was great, and when my plate of sorbet came for dessert it was decorated with ' happy birthday ' and balloons! A lovely touch, thank you.

We shared Sunday lunch with friends yesterday and we were all super impressed with the standard of the food we were served. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was served in a timely manner and the red wine was a perfect temperature, we even indulged in a dessert………

Very good food, service excellent. I do prefer my carrots cooked a bit longer. But had a lovely meal
