Very good restaurant/pub. The staff and food are stunning.

Beautiful old traditional pub with good atmosphere,TV in the back bar area with Sports on when wanted.

An Olde Worlde pub with original features including dark beams and inglewood fireplace, the place oozed charm. We had a steak and ale pie and the chicken, ham and leak. Both were served piping hot with chips and roasted vegetables. All excellent. Staff were friendly and efficient.

We moved to area recently and have eaten out in many restaurants over the area. This is hands down our favourite restaurant. The food is phenomenal.. my goodness! Service is great and it's a lovely atmosphere. We have been 4 or 5 times now in the last 2 months and it's such a treat every time. Great work!

Delicious roast beef dinner at the Queens Head on Sunday. Great pub, great atmosphere, great staff, lovely food. Just what we needed after a long day's travelling. Thank you!

We visited while away camping for a few days, the food was lovely as we're the staff and pub! I'd definatly reccomend and we will come back next time we're at the lakes!

What a fab place ! When we got seated on the table next to the log fire I knew we had picked a good one. Lovely friendly staff, warm atmosphere, great menu choices and loved the layout. Will definitely come back again when in the area.

This place smelled awful. Mouldy and musty. Zero atmosphere. Food was pretty below average. Steaks over cooked. Vegetarian offering was poor. Nothing fresh. Wouldn’t recommend and would not return. Table was sticky and yuk. Great care was given towards my two coeliac children though so thank you for that!

Great pub with a huge welcome. Good choice is perfect and well cooked/presented. Real ale is well kept and pulled perfectly. Very friendly and I recommend this pub to anyone

I have eaten at the Horse and Farrier a couple of times and have always found the quality and service to be amazing. Having an intolerance to onion and garlic I often find eating out challenging, but the chef is always willing to make adjustments, making sure I can have what I would like! This attests to how freshly made the food is. I look forward to every meal we have here, thank you.

Lovely people, lovely food, lovely atmosphere. Great all round. unpretentious, friendly and efficient. All at a reasonable price. Nothing more to be said.

Very happy with our recent meal, which we chose from the specials board. Impressed with the quality of the food, which was served by friendly staff. If any downside it's only the very limited parking.

We booked at the last minute but still managed to get a table for 8pm on a Friday night. Staff were very friendly, good was great. Definitely a place to go back to.

Excellent, polite friendly staff lovely food, piping hot well presented and very tasty. Would definitely recommend it and will visit there again when in Cumbria.

We've lived local many, many years. We were told the food was good there now. Tried it kast night. Absolutely lovely. This is not good pub food, it is proper gormet pub food. This guy, guys, gals, know what proper food is. I hear he's worked at Farlam Hall, that's Michelin star first year of opening kind of place. No wonder he knows. We'll be back very soon, thank you.
