Lovely evening with excellent service as usual

Brilliant place for date night. The food was amazing, the staff were excellent and the atmosphere was really pleasant. Had the lamb and the duck and both were cooked to perfection. Dessert was also great. Honestly a great place. Thank you!

We have eaten here three times in the last few weeks. Each time we have had excellent food, very well prepared and beautifully served, by attentive and sharp staff. We will become regulars in due course, because for us, the standard of food and service cannot be beaten in this area. I have no hesitation recommending Grants for delicious food that will go down well.

Wanted a good quality, not too large, meal with a nice bottle of wine. Grants hit the bullseye. Good value for money and attentive service.

We had a fantastic family meal on Sunday evening to celebrate being together before our daughter leaves for Canada for a year. The food was excellent with plenty of variety. Service was superb as always. Special note was the wood pudge on starter and duck breast main. Steak was melt in the mouth. Desserts were also outstanding.

This was gorgeous food, we had the chicken and the steak and it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. It was beautifully seasoned, great portions and delicious. Highly recommend

First time at Grant’s and we enjoyed it very much. Plenty of choice on the menu, and the dishes we chose were imaginative, well cooked and nicely presented. Having said that, we found the starters a bit small for the price charged. Main courses were better in that respect. The atmosphere in the downstairs area was a bit lacking, and we would probably opt to sit upstairs next time.

Lovely to sit out in the courtyard garden for pre dinner drinks. Service friendly and accommodating. Food was delicious, fresh ingredients, well conceived combinations. So much better than the pub and no more expensive.

We wanted to find somewhere different to eat on Saturday, and booked in at Grants, which we had been meaning to visit for some time. We couldn't have made a better choice! The service was excellent - friendly without being over-familiar, slick and professional, and service timing was spot on. The food, moreover............. absolutely marvellous. I can't remember the last time we had such a delightful meal. Neither of us could find a single thing that could have been improved. We are fortunate in the Penrith area to have a lot of very good restaurants, and up until a few years ago delighted in the cuisine of the Sharrow Bay, now alas closed. I'd say Grants was well set up to rival our memories of that world famous Hotel, and we shall be visiting again as often as we can manage

Took my daughters here to eat as part of my belated 60th celebration. We had a fantastic time. The service and the food were outstanding and really made the night memorable and special We would all go back again when in the area - thank you

Excellent scallops, tomato and mozzarella salad and cheese soufflé. Great wine. Very friendly and attentive service. Decor could do with cheering up a bit though it has a certain charm.
