Great food, friendly service, slightly pricey on some dishes but would definitely recommend

This is our go-to pub for lunch whenever we are in the area. Came for Sunday lunch, four people all had different choices - roast lamb, pork loin, macaroni cheese and fish and chips. All were perfect and we had to share puddings we were so full. The food here is always sublime and very good value for exceptional quality. This is a gorgeous little pub - we only wished we lived closer!

As good usual. We are very fortunate to have this as a local and we are very impressed with the new chef!

Had another superb Sunday lunch at the Horse and Farrier Dacre. Lovely pate followed by tender roast beef with Crispy Yorkshire pudding, cauliflower cheese and all the trimmings. We’re already booked for next Sunday. The staff are very friendly and helpful and we always ask for the table in the restaurant next to the door so we have a great view!

We have eaten at this Horse and Farrier several times over the last few years - this was a wedding anniversary evening out for us. The meal was quite excellent so we were both very happy. The parfait starter was delicious - my wife's Stone Bass was beautifully cooked, and my Duck from the specials board was - well, special. Two different deserts, equally enjoyable. Very well presented and served, so our congratulations and thanks to the chef and his helpers, and the front of house folk. Well done to you all.

We have been coming to the Horse and Farrier for a good few yers now and loved all of our meals here, but last nights was a cut above anything we've had here before, Compliments to the chef and his team and see you real soon again.

What can I say? A most wonderful birthday celebration for my husband with outstanding food and hospitality. Cannot recommend this place enough. Excellent 10/10.

We’ve been regularly over the past 5 years and it just gets better! The food is amazing, a cut above usual pub fare, the menu is imaginative, all sourced locally and most importantly delicious! The staff are super friendly and welcoming and provide first class service. And if that’s not enough they serve superb real ales all in a proper Lakeland pub!!!

Fantastic food. Varied menu and a good beer and wine selection. The mains and desserts were both high quality. Pork belly was excellent.

We stay at Hillcroft Park in Pooley Bridge and when we visit, we now always go to the Queens Head at Tirral. A great find, and our preference to the village pubs to be honest. Its a very friendly, pub, lovely atmosphere. The food is amazing, never had a bad meal, always brilliant. The staff are friendly and very attentive. We love going to this pub.

Mother’s Day meal was spot on - hardest thing was choosing what to have! Roasts were perfectly cooked and kids had plenty of choice. STP desert was amazing. Thank you!
