Food was fantastic and very reasonably priced. Staff on the other hand were not attentive at all and seemed to lack the smile with a service, there were no pleasantries at all. Drinks were just plonked on the table and staff member just walked off

We both thought the food was very good, steak cooked to perfection, vegetables and sauces delicious. The service was friendly and prompt. Thank you.

The Smokey Cow – TelfordInattentive service. Waited over an hour for food after ordering and the staff didn't seem concerned when we asked how much longer we would have to wait. The food was nice but I found a strip of plastic in mine. Waited for staff to take payment and eventually went to the bar to arrange this. Overheard some other people complaining to the manager about the service and poor attitude of the staff but he didn't seem to care either.
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordMy partner and I arrived, were seated and after 25mins, we hadn’t had any service at the table. We left the table and went to the bar to order our drinks. When we asked if we were meant to order at the bar, we were told that it was table service and that someone would be over to take our food order. We resumed our seats, the restaurant was not full, two waitresses were stood talking to the bar staff and the gentleman who was FOH, walked past our table several times but no one came to take our order. Having been seated almost an hour, we again went to the bar to order. The fact we ordered whilst being stood next to a waitress chatting to the barman about how she was finishing shift at 9pm was a bit rude. We sat down again, the food arrived about 35 mins after ordering. This was the one and only time and staff came to our table. We ate, the food was nice. When we finished, we sat for about 10mins and when the table was cleared, we asked for the bill, eventually we paid at the bar. The staff are very young and do the bare minimum. The service was almost non existent. So much so, it wasn’t even worth raising it and complaining. After alerting the bar staff, we realised they just aren’t bothered.

Really good server she was chatty and not robotic like some places. only a small criticism was that the room was lacking atmosphere which could easily be sorted with some background music and maybe some colour on the walls and making it a bit more cosy

However, the best part was an extraordinary dessert designed for those who cannot decide - for £22.50 we shared a huge platter of all desserts on the menu; what a great idea! To cap it all, there was live music, which just added to our excellent evening.

Got to the room and thought it was "quirky" with uneven floor and squeaky floor boards, shower over the bath, no tea bags in room, noisy, so wasn't overly impressed. Then I had food in the restaurant...UNBELIEVABLE. I would of left a 3 star review, but food last night and then the breakfast this morning have pushed it up to a 5. Well worth the stay just for the incredible food, very happy. Bravo to the kitchen and front of house staff
