Have reviewed The Swan before. Still like the place. Food is always good, atmosphere very pleasant. My only gripe as such was service this time around . The time period from order to table was i feel longer than normal. 30 minute wait for starters was to long needs addressing i feel. Place was not busy.

We were a party of three, quietly celebrating a 70th birthday. We weren’t sure, up until the day before, whether the pub would be open (due to the very recent flooding of Ironbridge) but we were really pleased that our booking went ahead. The pub has a lovely feel: relaxed and spacious. It took a long time to receive our drinks but there was only one member of staff waiting on every table. He was very friendly and apologetic and, when our food arrived, it was presented well and was tasty too. We will definitely be back.

Lovely meal with the family. Huge portions of good home cooked food. Staff friendly and nothing was too much trouble. They had ran out of quite a bit of dishes but they offered us alternatives which was fine. Reasonably priced. Will return.

Booked in for a late Sunday lunch only a few hours before selected time. One of the best Sunday lunches I’ve had in a long time however there was a couple with two dogs who just continually yapped.. I’m not sure what was worse, the constant barking or the owner continuously telling the dog ‘no’. Although the waitresses were brilliant I thought they could have handled situation better as it was clearly off putting for the customers who have paid good money to come out. I think because there was only a handful of customers they let it slide. Beautiful food and setting and service but the situation ruined all of this.

The food was fantastic, and the staff were so welcoming, I would highly recommend a visit. We had the prawns and the steak to start, and the risotto and belly pork for main. All meals were delicious, especially the stater.

Had a meal on Saturday night. Beef brisket was very nice. Plenty of beef and the sides were nice. My wife had the beef rib. The outer part was very salty. The potato and spring onion mash was very nice. Didn't think it was pricey. 2 mains one side and drinks came to £60. I woukld go again.

Lucky we booked when we did, due to the river being very high, the meals were very good, the service was excellent, can't wait to see you again soon, (when the river goes down again)

Nice enough place but nothing special. Service was good, food is standard pre-packaged pub food. Nothing to complain about but nothing to rave about either. I would choose somewhere different next time, partially because I like better quality food and partially because of the very loud “club” next door, with which the quieter restaurant side shares its toilets. If these two businesses were kept separate the restaurant would be much nicer. I would like to stress that the staff were excellent - knowledgeable, polite, attentive and efficient. Not a bad place, but there are nicer places nearby.

Come here regularly after my walks around the village. Good selection of larger and recently a much better ale selection. Only minor criticism it would be lovely to be open every day for lunch as sometimes it closed.

Came here recently. I believe they had a different chef to normal in the kitchen, however the food was fantastic as normal. Great service, very attentive.

Well what a nightmare!!! I had booked this place for a special birthday meal having dined at other Craft and Jam pubs and viewing the menu on-line we were all looking forward to the meal with eager anticipation. Firstly the service. We arrived at the pub the bar was quite full, so far so good, although no sign of any staff so maybe it was a free bar and that’s why everyone was smiling? We went into the restaurant which was empty save for one couple tucked away in the corner both looking a bit gloomy. (Maybe they had missed out on the free bar lol) We waited a while, no sign of staff anywhere. A couple of strategic coughs later the barmaid arrived with a slightly surprised look on her face that people were actually in the restaurant. I explained we had booked a table but no checking was needed after all the place was empty. The barmaid handed us two menus (which were stuck together with some unknown substance but presumably the remnants of someone’s previous meal) there were three of us by the way so three menus would have been nice, then led us to our table. Most of the menu was crossed out, no steaks, no mixed grill, in fact pretty much nothing I think there might have been an old cottage pie left for us to fight over?!?! The barmaid, come head waitress and who knows possibly chef as well did mutter a sorry that suppliers had let them down but it should be okay by tomorrow (Not sure what good that was as I wasn’t willing to sit at the table for 24 hours for my food) and led us to our table to deliberate. The meal itself. Well what can I say. Well nothing actually because there wasn’t really anything to order. I would love to enthuse that my steak was cooked to perfection or to rave about the sumptuous chicken wing starters but I can’t, they didn’t have any!!! We swiftly reached the conclusion this was a complete shambles and left now having the prospect of hastily arranging another venue to celebrate my sons birthday. Now I fully accept things happen outside of the pubs control but what I find absolutely disgusting and incredibly poor customer service is it wouldn’t have taken much to send out an email to the bookings for that evening (after all at the time we arrived there was only us and one other table occupied) and explain that suppliers had let them down and they had none or next to no food available. We ended up having a fabulous curry in Shrewsbury in the end but my advice if you want to make sure of a lovely meal with a great choice of food and great customer service, don’t do as we did by booking this place first, cut out the middle man and book somewhere else straight away.
