This was a lunch time time in mid week(Friday). I had a standard Friday cid and chips which was excellent - and my wife had the fish pie which was also very good. It was ice cream and chocolate brownies for dessert - again very good. . The two members of staff were very friendly and welcoming although a little slow. . The bill for the two of us was £47 which I guess is pretty normal. However there were few customers and all of a ‘certain age’. I award only 2/5 and considered a zero for ‘atmosphere’ because for us the ‘musak’ was intrusive and distracting. I suspect that it was the staff choice and cared not for the customers. In a pleasant restaurant with wonderful views and surroundings such as this there was really no need for such a poor choice of music played at too high a volume. It rather spoiled our enjoyment and I will probably not return for this reason alone. Such a pity…
