Very enjoyable evening with great food and drinks at reasonable prices. Staff were quietly efficient ensuring we had everything we wanted.

The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyLovely beer garden after stopping in for an afternoon drink on Sunday. We had booked a meal for 7pm on Monday as we were staying in Ironbridge for the weekend. The website says the place is open and I also received an email confirmation. After walking to the venue from where we were camping, the place was closed with a sign on the door advising they were closed on Mondays! So after walking further into Ironbridge to try and find somewhere else to eat, other places were booked up and we ended up with no other choice than the chippy! Not the evening we had planned, very disappointed!
Water Rat – IronbridgeWe had a lovely evening and Sunday roast at the Bull! I'm pleased I picked here, I was a lit worried after I had read so many mixed reviews and did in fact consider finding somewhere else last minute but I'm so glad I didn't. We were a party of four adults and two children and all of us enjoyed ourselves and cleared our plates. The service was great, I didn't catch the waitresses name but she was very friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious, hot, very tasty and good sized portions. The pub over all had a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. My only very minor criticism is that as we went later in the day (6pm on a Sunday) and they had run out of a couple of the menu options and also that even though it was a Sunday it would have been nice to have the option of the normal menu and not just the Sunday roasts. But that's only minor and didn't at all take away from our overall very enjoyable experience. We will be returning!
The Bull – ShrewsburyStill an excellent Sunday lunch, happy and friendly staff.. Just need a local real ale on...
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordFabulous Sunday roast! Portions were plentiful and the beef was cooked to perfection. Service was great too. Thanks Malthouse :-)
The Malthouse – TelfordReceived a warm welcome, first class service, first class food, highly recommend, our guests loved it too, not our first time dining here and will not be the last, thank you everyone for making our visit special once again.
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordFirst visit to The Smokey Cow, we will return. Fabulous meal, good selection of real ales,(reasonably priced for once), friendly, helpful staff, nothing was too much trouble. Slow cooked brisket and smokey beans was amazing, no complaints with any of the meals, 4 empty plates!!!
The Smokey Cow – TelfordThe ribs were amazing, meat just fell off the bone. Will be visiting again for sure
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordFood was good but menu was very limited and they were very short staffed . The manager said as soon as we went into the bar that he had only started 2 hours before and that there was only 2 chefs and 1 other member of staff waiting on the tables. The young man waiting on was very good and deserved a medal e felt quite sorry for him as there was also a70th bday party of approx 16 people . Very noisy .
The Bull – ShrewsburyLast minute booking Catered for us pleasant staff Wonderful place to eat Fantastic meal Well worth the price
The Smokey Cow – TelfordWe arrived for our meal at 7.30,I had booked it the previous week as we we’re coming to Ironbridge from Wigan for a few days, unfortunately we only got our meal at 9am,we had been told it would be 15-20 minutes wait but not an hour and 20 minutes,The meal arrived and was good but it was just to late,we were not charged for our drinks by way of an apology. It was a very disappointing evening.
Water Rat – IronbridgeSadly this place has gone downhill since we last visited. We went on a Monday night at 7pm I have food intolerances and was thrilled when I arrived to find the waitress/manager had already gone through the menu and removed what I couldn’t eat. However, on closer inspection, there were still allergens present in the dish descriptions, with one supposedly ‘safe’ dish entirely based around an allergen When I ordered my burger, there was no mention of coleslaw on the menu. As I have a brassica and root veg intolerance, AND I had informed the pub in advance of these, I was really disappointed to find my plate had a big lump of coleslaw on it. The burger patty is no longer the nice thick patty but 2 thin bought-in patties. It also took an hour for our meals to be brought out when we were the only table left in the place. While we would loved to have ordered puddings (the chocolate tart and sorbet is my favourite here), we were only asked about ordering a desert at 20:45. The waitress was very attentive when we turned up, but as soon as our mains had been served, we were completely forgotten about. The waitress did apologise but by this point we were done It’s an absolute shame as I loved the Tilly. The food an atmosphere used to be amazing. I just feel so sad that it’s no longer a safe place for me to eat so won’t be returning
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyVisited Sunday 22/5/22 had a lovely meal, wife had the gammon and i had the full rack of ribs which were fabulous best ribs i have had in a long time, would recommend the smokey cow fantastic place
The Smokey Cow – TelfordService was a little bit slow and we felt forgotten at times but food was really lovely.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordAll the staff were lovely and polite. Great tasting food and decent beer
The Smokey Cow – TelfordFood was amazing. Really enjoyed our starters and mains. I think when live music is on it should start after dinner service or give people a choice on where they sit, as some people may not want to listen. We found it difficult to maintain conversation as we sat close to the singer. The waitress who brought the bill remarked on the cost of it, which was an unusual comment and left us all confused.
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordA lovely restaurant and food was delicious.
