The White Hart – IronbridgeHi, we visited last night after hearing good reviews and the menu looks lovely. However unfortunately we arrived at 6.30 and there was not a single other customer in there. Also my partner wanted a couple of vodkas with his meal and there was none at all available. It was such a shame because it looks a lovely place but needs a stock of vodka and a bit of atmosphere! The barman was very apologetic and it wasn’t his fault at all.
The Bull – ShrewsburyWe had booked a table for 8 for 5.45 and all arrived on time. The food when it arrived was absolutely fine. But the problem was we had wait 50 minutes to receive it! We also I had to chase the staff to take our order for drinks and food, as they didn't ask us. At a guess they had some problems with staff this night, We would all have had puds and more drinks but time had moved on by the time we had eaten, and as we had young children we had to go as it was nearing 7.30 by this time. I really hope this was just a one off.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyExcellent as ever, have been a few times now and the quality of food and service is very good.
Water Rat – IronbridgeI dined here on a Monday evening and was surprised how busy it was (restaurant was full) as Monday's are often quieter in hospitality. Service was a little slow at points, though I had no time constraints so not an issue. I did have to chase up a drink order at one stage though. I ate the chicken strips with blue cheese sauce for starter, which was tasty. Coating had some heat to it, which was nice, but may not suit all. For main I had the brisket, which was excellent. The portions were generous, and I was pretty stuffed afterwards! I would eat here again.
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordExcellent service, great food..very friendly staff, highly recommended
The Malthouse – TelfordAbsolutely beautiful meal that was served perfectly. Thank you
The White Hart – IronbridgeLovely staff very welcoming, the atmosphere was very friendly. The food was the roast we’ve had in a long time.
The White Hart – IronbridgeWe had some friends visiting telford and decided as they are house hunting to eat at the Swan. The food was lovley except the roast potatoes were very hard and not one of the six of us could eat them, the sweet section was very limited and we all left a bit disappointed, the staff were great and very helpful.
The Swan At Ironbridge – Telfordgreat food, unfortunately the 2 hour wait for food ruined the night, this coupled with the server not knowing what was ordered made for a very poor experience - chips were out of a bag and not 'hand cut at the Bull' all in all we wont be going back in a hurry
The Bull – ShrewsburyVisited en route to Shrewsbury Folk Festival for a break in my elderly campervan. Nice welcoming, quite busy and comfortable pub, with friendly locals and staff. Well cooked, good value food. Sadly a lack of real ale due to a delivery problem. Wll call again on way way to SFF
The Bull – ShrewsburyReturning customer, love the Expresso Martini on tap and the good cold Guinness. The food is excellent and the mussels are a recurring hit. It's difficult to have all 3 courses because you are well fed with high class gastronomy! Well worth a visit. Book ahead to avoid disappointment!
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyLovely welcoming hotel, very nice food and clean and comfortable rooms, Grace and Natalie and all the staff were all stars. A wonderful guy called Connor entertained us on the Friday evening, great call on Grace's part, would definitely visit again.
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordWe came for a wonderful meal Wednesday. It was midweek so not as busy however we looked after very well. Our waitress was extremely helpful. Nice and clean, very attentive and friendly will be back
The Smokey Cow – TelfordWe had a superb roast pork meal on Sunday late afternoon. Absolutely delicious and excellent value for money. Staff friendly and efficient. Wish we lived closer - we would be there regularly!
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyLovely food, great service. We had a brilliant evening, will definitely be back soon.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordAfter arriving promptly for a 5pm reservation to celebrate our sons birthday, the evening went down hill very rapidly. The waitress who took our drinks order came back twice to check what we wanted (even though it wasn’t difficult to remember!). We then waited a further 30 mins before we had to ask someone to order food. The lady who took our order couldn’t have been less interested. It wasn’t a busy time to be in the retirar so expected food to be delivered in a timely manner. After waiting a further 45 mins and running out of drinks, we tried to order more drinks only for the waitress to acknowledge us twice and never return. By this point we still had no food (1 hr 30 mins since arriving). When we asked where our food was, (as no one bothered to check up on us despite knowing we’d ordered food) we were told there’s been an IT issue and order hadn’t printed to the kitchen. This despite other tables receiving their food ok! Almost two hours after arriving we finally got our food. And it wasn’t really worth the wait! We have visited the pub frequently since moving to the area 5 years ago and this isn’t a one off. We have experienced slow and poor service before, particularly on an evening. We won’t be returning any time soon as there are a large number of high quality eateries within the vicinity that we would rather spend our money at and know we will be treated as valued customers. A very poor experience which could have been better had the staff actually shown any interest their customers.
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordVisited with friends whilst in Ironbridge. Food was decent and good value but the service was disappointing. One of our party was delivered the wrong meal initially. Whilst this was eventually rectified without fuss, it took a long time for us to get the attention of the servers despite sitting in a high traffic area. We struggled to order drinks, and at no point did anyone check that our food was ok. Dirty plates sat on our table for 20+ minutes and eventually we gave up on desert. Once we managed to get the attention of staff to pay, the bill was incorrect (in fact the waitress suggested that I make sure I checked it carefully!!). I understand that the pub was busy and perhaps they were short of staff but their lack of attention ruined our experience and I don’t think we will be back when next in town.
