Could not fault anything. We returned the following day for a drink in the beer garden and would make this our "local" if we didn't live 100 miles away!!

The White Hart – IronbridgeSlow. Adequate food and otherwise a bit poor.
The Malthouse – TelfordGreat food great welcome great service!
The White Hart – IronbridgeBooked a table with high hopes as we had had a great time on a couple of previous occasions. Table was booked online, initial greeting wasn’t friendly and no choice as to whether we wanted to eat inside or out. Fully appreciate that times have been difficult in hospitality but staff were either very inexperienced or poorly trained, certainly weren’t friendly and service was poor. It was a very disappointing experience and we left as soon as we could after eating. The lack or attention and lack lustre staff has put myself and family off visiting on another occasion.
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordDisappointing food and service. Our table was booked for 5:30pm on a Saturday night and when we arrived we were told that there were no steaks and the one vegetarian meal on the menu wasn’t available, we had to chase our meals, desserts and bill and the meat was tough. When I raised concerns as we paid our bill, we were told they were short staffed - I’m not sure how the 2 girls found time to finish their private chat and twiddle with their hair if this was the case. And apparently, they don’t really cater for vegetarians because it’s a smoke house!
The Smokey Cow – TelfordMy partner had been telling me all about this place and how amazing the food was, so she booked us a table for Saturday evening, confirmation received and we drove 25minutes to the restaurant. On arrival it was clear the person tending to us was unsure on our booking and sent someone else to deal with us, he proclaimed to us that the booking system is sent to them and they have to confirm the booking by emailing the confirmation, as they hadn't becuase they had been so busy unfortunately we had no booking! Bear in mind we had the email confirmation in our hand on the screen showing it to him, he continued to say it was an error and sent us on our way. Was highly disappointed that an error on there part left us without a booking to eat and no where to go after a nearly 30 minute drive and there seemed to be no care to rectify the problem, to make matters worse, the cheek to then send us an email today saying " we hope you enjoyed your meal with us at the Swan, we'd love to see you again soon" please leave us a review? Shambolic springs to mind!!
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordThe Malthouse has gone significantly downhill. From the fact that the front is a DJ booth and practically like an overpriced Hungry Horse. The food was awful. Both steaks burnt, wedges/chips raw, garlic bread soggy, cocktail was watery and it very very loud. We ate, paid and left very quickly. The young girl that served us though was very patient, attentive, friendly and helpful.
The Malthouse – TelfordExcellent all round service and food was great.
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordBack in Shropshire on holiday for the first time since 2019 when we also dined at the White Hart, a lot has happened since then but thankfully the quality of food at the White Hart is just as good and we particularly enjoyed the tempura mushroom starter. Anyone visiting the Ironbridge area should make time for at least one meal at the White Hart.
The White Hart – IronbridgeMe and my partner came for a meal Wednesday evening and was really impressed with the meal and the staff. On arrival we was informed that some of the items on the menu were unavailable but that didn’t put us off one bit. We both enjoyed a 12 oz gammon and the meal was spot on and value for money. The barman/waiter was training a young member of staff and we was really impressed how he was talking her through everything and making her feel at ease . We will 100% be returning in the not so distant future
The Bull – ShrewsburyPerfect for us, room was lovely and spacious and food was great. Location was also ideal (especially in the sun) and the large cad park was an added bonus
Water Rat – IronbridgeFirst time here since it changed hands and due to covid. The duck was cooked perfectly and the veg was great. The mushroom tagliatelle was delicious, but I am amazed there was no bread served alongside or an option to have bread on the side extra, as the cream and truffle sauce needed something to mop it up at the end. My partner had 3 small plates and it a tasted delicious but the pakors were not crisp...a bit disappointing. With a 20 minute wait before managed to get service and order deserts, it was another 20 minutes before pudding arrived...thank goodness it was delicious...the icecream was superb, as was the bread and butter pudding and the crumble
Water Rat – IronbridgeLovely meal, beautifully cooked and presented. Plenty of choice for all tastes. Pleasant and attentive staff. Will certainly be going back!
The White Hart – IronbridgeAbsolutely amazing food. The Texas brisket was gorgeous. Only downside was about 40 minute wait for food even on a quiet afternoon and my mum asked for steak medium rare but got it medium to well done. However this didn’t spoil Our enjoyment of the food

The Smokey Cow – TelfordIt was not to bad …wouldn’t return as load of other places to try
The Smokey Cow – TelfordMain course was very good, however I was disappointed with the Eton mess. I expected strawberies and whipped cream and meringue and instead received meringue, a few black currants in yoghurt. Service was good. Thanks
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyFriendly attentive staff and some of the nicest food outside a high end restaurant we have had. Certainly a huge cut above "pub food" although you can still get s steak amongst the inventive menu. If only we lived closer!
