The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyAs a couple we were really keen to visit the tilley raven on Monday 12 April, on arrival we were really disappointed, we felt a lot more could of been done in preparation, especially when the weather was really cold. I felt there should of been some outside heating, an offer of blankets. The tables weren't wiped over, dusty and dirty. Not good value for food and drink, be aware that what ever you order add on 20% as the bill has the vat on top. However, the staff were really lovely and helpful, just a great shame it could of been made better with a bit more thought and effort.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyI have enjoyed many meals at the Water Rat since the refurbishment with my wife and also family ( when allowed ) , the food and service are always excellent. The staff are friendly and welcoming, it is a shame that the pub has been closed so much this year. Lets hope that we can all go back soon. I used to be a regular visitor to the Meadow which I always enjoyed but I can honestly say that the Water Rat is even better. I would recommend that you visit when it is open again.
Water Rat – IronbridgeVery enjoyable meal, service was excellent and all COVID rules followed. It was quite quiet when we went but the atmosphere was relaxed and festive. Food was delicious, we had all 3 courses as a Christmas treat!
Water Rat – IronbridgeWe had a lovely Christmas Eve lunch. The food was amazing, the staff very welcoming & the surroundings were beautiful. All covid compliant, we will most certainly be returning to try many more things on the menu. Thank you for a lovely afternoon.
Water Rat – IronbridgeStayed here for a few nights to celebrate my early retirement. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the other diners were too which gave the whole experience a warm and relaxing atmosphere. The menu is extensive and updated each day. We ate several times and the choice was excellent, about a dozen starters, a dozen mains and half a dozen desserts....something for everyone. I had the turkey roast on one occasion and that was very tasty. I had the hake with saffron cream, the fish was cooked to perfection. And I also tried the mushroom risotto which was absolutely delicious. The portion sizes are generous. The drinking while you are eating rules are applied, but it is not a problem as the staff are very approachable. Just remember to leave a gap before ordering dessert as you will be very full after eating the main course and the puddings are definitely worth waiting for. All in all a wonderful pre Christmas break, thank goodness we are in Tier 2....for now.
Water Rat – IronbridgeCame here after our wedding for a meal for 2. Chose 3 courses plus an ale. Honestly, it was flawless. The food was perfectly cooked, and it was a good menu to choose from. Service was good, atmosphere was spot on. Thank you very much for making it so lovely.
The White Hart – IronbridgeAmazing food and excellent service, I really can’t recommend highly enough!
The White Hart – IronbridgeReally enjoyable meal at the Water Rat. Excellent service, value for money and a very convivial atmosphere in the circumstances. We will return!
Water Rat – IronbridgeLovely lunch last Monday, superb setting, good service by attentive staff.
Water Rat – IronbridgeI don't often write reviews but had such a wonderful meal last weekend that I feel I must. The staff were friendly and attentive from the moment we entered. The food was fresh and tasty, plus good value for money. I will definitely return .
Water Rat – IronbridgeDelicious meal in a Covid-19 compliant environment. The food and wine were lovely, goats cheese and beetroot, gravalax followed by sirloin of beef- very rich. Unfortunately the atmosphere is lacking due to being in the area with no other guests and a bit downbeat background music. The team were attentive and pleasant.
The White Hart – IronbridgeWe had a lovely relaxing evening at the Water Rat, the staff were welcoming and friendly and the food was beautiful. Even the chef changed the main for me because I don't eat red meat and made sautéed potatoes instead of chorizo mash. How lovely was that?! We will be back for another user chilled evening. Thank you all x.
