A repeat visit with friends, we have used this pub several times over the last seven years whilst visiting the area. The portion sizes were good, the food was presented well and tasted great. The service was exceptionally quick, given it was a bank holiday weekend. We have found that the food is always consistently good, and the staff are polite and friendly. It’s very popular and always busy, with a lovely large outdoor beer garden.

We always go here for Sunday lunch when we are over. Staff are friendly and the food is plenty and tasty.

The service was excellent, staff very pleasant and polite. Excellent value for money. Sunday Carvery had a great choice, the only thing I would say is that the food wasn’t boiling hot. This did not put me off but I would have liked it hotter.

Had a lovely Sunday carvery yesterday.the food was hot and fresh. The waitress Pipa was very helpful with my wife being on crutches and Deb as usual making sure everything was fine. Will definitely be back so much we have booked Christmas Day dinner there. This was our first visit since the new management have taken over.

Excellent food, great service, lovely atmosphere and thoroughly good value for money. The best restaurant in Caernarfon by a long way. Highly recommended.

We came for Sunday lunch we really enjoyed the food. We will definitely be going back next time we are here.

It could not have been a better Sunday lunch. There were six of us and no one had any complaints the food was hot and delicious and served promptly by friendly staff. I only wish we lived closer because we would be regulars but next time we are in the area we will definitely be visiting and enjoying their fabulous food.

Will definitely be returning! From the food to the service everything was outstanding! Nothing was to much the owner even came to my premises for me to be able to book! The pudding was to die for and I could have eaten the starter twice over my parents had the monk fish and said it was the best they’ve had! Definitely a place to visit!

Another absolutely wonderful evening at Y Sgwâr. Amazing food, exceptional service and a very personal touch from the proprietor who comes to every table to check personally if the evening met expectations. I have dined here, including a New Year celebration with various guests probably 6 or 7 times in the last couple of years and never been less than delighted every time. Can’t recommend this restaurant and total dining experience enough.

Visited on 22/08/2024 for my wife’s birthday. We stay in Barmouth quite often but normally on days when Foxglove is closed, so we were delighted to be able to visit this time. The food was amazing and brilliantly put together by Luke the chef and Antonella described all ingredients to us in each course. We took our dog who was treated like a Prince. Vegan or not you must visit Foxglove and sample the delightful food and atmosphere. We will definitely be returning.
