The Square is now our favourite local restaurant that my husband and I visit often . We love the fish , especially the cod or hake . Our main , the cod was excellent . Disappointed with the ‘special” dessert , it was summer pudding with Chantelle cream, but not good ! Tasteless unfortunately. Never mind still enjoyed our main meal .

We’ve eaten here many times and it never disappoints. The food was excellent, the service was excellent and the atmosphere was excellent. The duck and the cod were cooked to perfection. Definitely worth a visit.

The quality of the food was excellent. Yes it is busy at this time of year but the service and food standards were high. The cask ale is faultless.

We enjoyed the meal at Hotel Wrexham. It was ambitious to put on an all-day carvery for just a few guests. The non-carvery dish was excellent and the service, particularly that given by the manager from Mauritius was super

Hi We had amazing food and friendly great service. My only disappointment was the fact that when I asked for a glass of wine both Sav and pinot had ran out, surely this shouldn’t happen in such a classy restaurant, Tescos and shop opposite would have been an option? The profit on my wine would have worked! We will be back though, didn’t ruin the evening. Math and Del

The Victoria Inn was recommended by the owner of the cottage we were staying in so we booked - the food didn’t disappoint, was really delicious but of my gosh the front of house service was shocking! The guy who appeared to be the manager swore twice whilst we were waiting to be served, trying to order was chaos & we were shown to our table by someone who appeared to be 10 years old! There were plenty of empty tables so not overly busy but the staff didn’t seem to know what they were doing. It is a gorgeous setting though with wonderful homemade food

What a little gem of a restaurant. We were recommended here by a friend, and we have now been here 5 or 6 times. Husband and wife team with an amazing set of staff around them. Food is excellent and the Sunday Roast is to die for. Love it, love it, love it

Amazing food, excellent service, only suggestion would be some garlic bread as a starter on the menu

Myself and my wife had a fabulous evening on the 23/8/24 we shared the Crochets as a starter which were absolutely lovely but were topped by our chicken supreme main meal, the wine was very good for the price and the service was impeccable.

First time visiting Y Sgwâr and will definitely be back. An interesting and varied menu and great to see a good range of options for GF and vegetarian diners. The food and service were excellent. Would definitely recommend.

We visited Telfords on a Wednesday. We had no trouble booking on line and when we arrived the restaurant had a real vibrant atmosphere. The waiting staff were friendly and efficient. Our food came quickly despite a large party of diners in the restaurant. We were definitely not disappointed from start to finish. The portions were generous and full of flavour. We will definitely be coming back!

This was my second visit to Y Sgwar and again the food was fabulous. I had the crusted lamb (cooked to my taste) and it was delicious. I then had the apple crumble and glad to see custard was offered (and enjoyed)! Service spot on and the place was nicely busy.
