Have eaten at Y Sqwar a number of times . The food is always first rate , the atmosphere even on quieter nights is still welcoming and the staff are exceptional . If I could , I would give them 10 . We will be back time and time again .

Recently on a short break, we stumbled on this venue, being a Thursday we chose not to dine that evening as only one table was occupied and very little atmosphere. We booked for the Friday assuming it would be busier and have a little more atmosphere, we were wrong as there was just one couple dining. I ordered linguine and my friend ordered 2 starters as a main, scallops and chicken wings. The food was placed in front of us and the waitress walked away. The scallops had no caviar so we pointed this out to the waitress who called someone else and skulked away. We were told the chef had no caviar so had given 1 extra scallop instead. We were not informed of the change at any time or given the opportunity to change the dish, there was no apology and it was as if they were doing a favour offering 1 extra scallop instead. We had no choice but to eat what we had been given and be thankful. Will not return due to the lack of customer service given

Thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon tea. Very good value for money. Endless pots of tea. We were the only one's in the restaurant, so service was fabulous. Will definitely be visiting again. Thank you

Had a lovely meal here this week! Booked a table which is advisable as they get very busy. Table at 6pm and restaurant already had quite a few people in as they do an early bird menu 5-6pm. We were on the a la carte and chose scallops and pate starters followed by fillet steak and Welsh lamb rump mains. Everything was delicious and perfectly cooked. Although I was full, had to try the mango and lime cheesecake which didn’t disappoint. Amazing food and atmosphere was buzzing in there. Service was great, waitress who seated us was very nice and chatty, checked back to see if food was ok etc. would highly recommend Y Sgwar, we’ve been a few times now and always a wonderful experience

Real treat dining here. Just looking for a nice local restaurant at the end of a hard days holidaying and Y Sgwar fitted the bill perfectly. Lovely staff, really helpful and excellent food really good value for money. Very smart decor but atmosphere very chilled, we were not dressed up but felt welcomed. Highly recommended.

Lovely afternoon tea. Everything was very tasty and fresh. Tea and coffee pots refilled as needed. One of the best afternoon teas in the area.

I can honestly say at 39 years of age, and having eaten many roasts, this is in my top five of all time. It was fantastic. Well worth the price, we were all very happy. If I'm ever in the area again I will definitely be back again.

Really delicious, nicely presented food and the staff were friendly and attentive. Restaurant is a little dated and atmosphere lacking slightly but the new decor looks lovely and hope it will draw in more custom because the place really has so much potential. All the best to the new owners

There were three of us and we had booked, the manager/owner welcomed us and wanted to give us a table that was already narrow for two people. When we refused to sit down, he justified himself by saying that usually 4 people sit at that table; looking around the room we saw that all the groups of 4 were on two tables pushed together. The place wasn't even full. Realizing the mistake after 5 minutes he gave us a suitable table. After sitting down we waited 15 minutes for the menus and another 40 minutes to be served. The food was good but the price was high. The place was too noisy. Inexperienced staff. At the end of the dinner, three waiters came together to remove everything from the table without giving us time to settle down. Before lunch we were offered a good bread with oil and vinegar.
