Excellent fillet steak mash and side salad. Unfortunately the salad came with a vinegrette which was not to my taste

Super as always! Delighted to have our favourite table in the front window. Food, service and atmosphere were all excellent.

We had a fabulous dinner at Y Sgwar and would highly recommend it. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. It was the perfect choice for our last evening staying at nearby Portmeirion.

Friendly staff, happy and warm atmosphere and delicious food. Would definitely go back. Our table of 5 were all very happy.

We took our children to the early bird offer mid week and we were absolutely blown away by the food. Absolutely beautiful and the staff were so nice and helpful with the children. Menu was fantastic and the children loved the menu. Will look forward to our next visit when we book again

Yesterday we had the best Sunday dinner we've every had! We had plenty of food and lots of meat, even the small plate was big. The gravy was the best we've ever had. The food was tasty and hot. We had Sunday dinner here last year while we were away and it was great, so we decided to come back. We drove nearly two hrs for another one yesterday. Like I said it was perfect. We would highly recommend it.

We came last year on holiday to barmouth and ate a Fantastic Roast beef dinner we have never forgotten the taste and so this year instead of 4 of us, we invited another 5 family members to join us and we all got to enjoy different meals together and everyone was impressed and will be definitely coming back for more. Well done to the chef and all the staff and to the owners for having such good people working for you. We will be back

Excellent Sunday dinner and great value for money.

Polite and helpful staff,great atmosphere,we had the roast beef dinner and it was one of the best I've ever had,food came out quickly and hot. Recommend this pub to anyone,haven't got one bad thing to say about it.

Booked for a Sunday lunch. The staff were very flexible when we arrived 30 minutes early. We ordered four Sunday roasts and were told we could not have secondary Yorkshire puddings as there wasn’t enough. The beef was overcooked and the veg was tasteless. Lamb was mediocre at best. We visit the pub every year and have done for the past four years, not sure we’d return for food again.

Decent food but poor atmosphere. There was a wedding party there, but I was never informed about this when i booked. I phoned a few days before as I never had confirmation of my booking, but I was still not told. As a result, we could hardly hear what we were saying to each other because of the disco sound system. Had I known there was a wedding, I would have booked elsewhere. Been to Holt hotel before for a meal & enjoyed it so wanted to go back. I travelled all the way from Liverpool, but this experience has put me off a little about going back again

Service was good , we ordered the Angelsey burgers and one of the specials , they were very nice , not eaten out in a while so I thought £16 was a bit pricey but it’s probably the going rate? Would have had a pudding but thought choice was limited ? Nice atmosphere , friendly staff and better still we could take the dogs inside .
