We were on holiday in the area and we ate in Y Sgwar twice , we had previously visited in 2023 . We had a very warm welcome on arrival , the staff are well trained and knowledgeable. The food was of an excellent standard and we would recommend this restaurant. Thank you .

Fantastic meal at Telford’s Bistro on Thursday evening. The food’s taste was amazing, and the staff were very amenable and friendly. We had several small plates and they were all fantastic, to top off, the desserts and cocktails were great too!

Lovely traditional pub and a really great meal. Objected slightly to having to go to the bar to order our food and drink as it was quite busy and we had to queue (5pm on a Thurs so could be a nightmare at the weekend). We're just not used to that in a reasonably expensive eatery.

We had a delicious meal at Y Fainc/The Bench @The Old Courthouse - a warm welcome & interesting chats with Moira the owner too. The venue is a real labour of love, steeped in history - the small theatre space ideal for events. Definitely recommend, a great asset to enjoy in Caernarfon.

We stayed in Porthmadog for a mid week break and visited here after numerous people had commented on how lovely this place was and our group was not disappointed. We received a warm welcome and service by the team was very good, the food we received was tasty and hot which all aided to a great evening out with family and friends.

had late lunch before the races. young girl on the bar on her own and very busy but pleasant and helpful. Meals rather disappointing, curry very bland and not much chicken and the chicken burger was tough and came with a hash brown on top, very strange. such a shame as its a nice pub in a lovely setting

Excellent meal. The cod was perfectly cooked - slightly translucent and sweet partnering perfectly with the accompanying flavours. Very busy restaurant on a Saturday evening but service was well organised.

We had a lovely meal in this great little pub last Saturday. My husband ordered tempura battered sole and I had chicken and almond curry. Both our meals were delivered to our table very quickly, they were delicious and obviously just cooked, as they were piping hot. Although the pub was extremely busy, the staff were helpful, courteous and efficient. Whenever we come to Wales we always make a visit to the Victoria, and have never been disappointed, Thank you for a lovely evening meal which was very welcome after a long drive from Norfolk.

I booked the Old Courthouse for a group of 26 sailors visiting Caernarfon. We had a most wonderful evening thanks to Moira who provided us with lovely food and hospitality. We had quite a sing song and musical evening with Moira also joining with with her lovely piano playing. I recommend highly the restaurant and thank everyone for making our visit so memorable.

We have eaten at the Victoria many times when visiting our family caravan and always enjoyed it. But this time I was not impressed the food was good although a bit over priced along with drinks. The service was absolutely awful waited 10 mins at the busy bar for our table which was pre booked then had to go back the bar to order our food and queue again the staff were not interested when my father told them that it wasn’t working the way they were doing things and the staff member actually swore at my elderly father I am disgusted the way he was treated.

A world class evening of food - this was our first visit and along with our friends who are also big foodies - and from the second we walked in, to the moment we left the experience was incredible, warm front of house staff who were friendly and welcoming, delicious flavour filled food which has clearly had a lot of effort and development gone into it. A fantastic evening and somewhere I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend - brilliant

We have eaten at the Vic many times and never been disappointed. The food is always excellent, definitely one of the best places to eat on this stretch of the coast.

The food was excellent. The staff were attentive but not overly so. Although the restaurant was busy, the service was very good.

On holiday in the area, we booked Y SGWAR to celebrate my birthday and it turned out to be one of the best ever. The restaurant is bright and comfortable, the service was excellent throughout but, above all, the food is glorious. From a varied menu we both chose scallops, hake with ratatouille and sauteed potatoes, and ended with a selection of Snowdonia cheeses. All were beautifully presented and to say delicious would truly be an understatement. To paraphrase Harry Callahan, Y Sgwar, you "Made My Day". Thank you.
