Quattro’s – OrmskirkMyself and 2 friends had lunch at the Whitchaff Inn yesterday, as we have done on a number of occassions. It was a great environment, food & top class service. The staff make you feel most welcome & go out of their way to ensure a great experience is had.
The Whitchaff Inn – RawtenstallWe visited CDJ on Sunday. It’s a beautiful restaurant and the decor is amazing. I have been to the previous restaurant on several occasions and have always had a fantastic meal. We ordered starters which we thoroughly enjoyed and then we had the roast dinners. I opted for the beef and my husband and son had the lamb. The beef (pink) was perfect, the lamb shanks had plenty of meet on that fell off the bone. We order a side of cauliflower cheese which was plenty for the three of us as there were plenty of vegetables. I would say that it is the best roast I have had for a long time. The only downside that I would mention is that although the playlist was fantastic it was very loud. The volume did go up on a few of the songs which was quite unbearable. I do wear hearing aids and struggled to hear the waitresses. Also when having a meal you would appreciate being able to talk to people on your table without raising your voices. I have spoken to a couple of people who have visited and they also mentioned that the music was far too loud. I really hope this can be rectified as we can’t wait to revisit as the food is superb.
CDJ Riverside Bar and Kitchen – DarwenExcellent food and service. Staff were friendly but professional. Service was prompt. Food quality excellent and good value for money.

CDJ Riverside Bar and Kitchen – DarwenThis was my first visit to Lancaster and the Wagon and Horses. We booked for Sunday lunch as it was so close to the car park behind the Maritime Museum, which we had decided to visit before lunch. There is a reduced main course menu on Sundays plus a full menu of starters and desserts. The food was good value for money, the staff very friendly and attentive and I think this was probably the cleanest pub I have ever been in, including the wc. I was surprised the Wagon and Horses wasn't more busy. Maybe a couple of extra mains on the Sunday menu is called for. The rum babas and tiramusu were lovely and very generous. Would highly recommend.
Wagon and Horses – LancasterHeard good things about the restaurant. Always passed by and wanted to try. We weren't disappointed. Great pizzas. Attentive friendly staff in a somewhat bohemian atmosphere. Highly recommended.
