Absolute gem of a place. My son and I visited yesterday for lunch. Love the fact there are still breakfast options to choose from midday onwards. Food was absolutely fabulous and freshly made which we both thoroughly enjoyed. We will most definitely be back. Staff efficient and friendly. Modern and clean facilities.

We have been to the Whitchaff a few times but I was disappointed this time. The food I chose was the cheese and onion pie with beans and chips, price £17.95! The piece of pie was more like a children's portion and not many baked beans but enough chips. My husband had the same but a bigger piece of pie. Very disappointed that the roast dinner had run out, we were there at 5 o'clock. The sweets were okay but nothing special for the price. I don't think the food lived up to past meals we have had. Service was quite slow, didn't appear to have enough staff. Table wasn't ready when we arrived.

Came for a 40th birthday meal staff went above and beyond to help and the food was amazing.

Read reviews so booked as on holiday and we were not disappointed. We had an excellent meal on Sunday evening. Lovely menu. Every member of staff were attentive but not in your face and you did not feel rushed.

They are amazing. Whenever you go, however many people are there you always get wonderful service from the staff! As for the food, it’s always as good as the time before and the time before and so on! Always the same standard, always Great. If you haven’t been, Go! I promise you will not be sorry. Just sorry you haven’t been before. Enjoy I’m sure you will

Tried Quattros for the first time on Saturday night and thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the restaurant. the staff were friendly, smart and very efficient. The food was excellent in taste, presentation and portion size. The ambience in the restaurant was lovely, people were enjoying their conversations along with their food and not one mobile phone in sight (always a sign of people really enjoying themselves). We are regular customers and have yet to have a bad meal. This was a Sunday lunch visit and the place was not overcrowded. Our fish based meals were very good although one was rather swimming in sauce. The deserts were very good again. As always the staff were a delight and we continue to recommend PLs to anyone.

We love Shepherd’s Rest and try to bring our friends/family when they come to visit. This last visit I was able to pre-order a chicken roast for Sunday lunch for a picky eater with no fuss. Another visit on a Sunday I had my heart set on ordering a Shepherd’s Pie, but forgot it was Sunday. They did accommodate me even though I could’ve picked something else and that just tells me everything I need to know about the kind of service provided.

First time visiting here and we loved the food. I had meatballs, shepherd's pie and sticky toffee pudding. Very tasty and great quality. The service was excellent, we will be back.

We attended the premises as a party of four. The initial contact and service throughout was fantastic. Our starters and main courses were plentiful and cooked to a high standard. Overall a fantastic experience!
