Great Sunday lunch in a lovely friendly pub.

Lovely Sunday lunch, complete with cauliflower cheese as a side. Great service and nice atmosphere

My husband and I dined here at the beginning of February for a nice evening meal. What a lovely little gem this place is, the staff are wonderful, very friendly and welcoming and extremely helpful and considerate around allergies which was greatly appreciated as I have a nut allergy. The food was delicious and it was great value for money. We will definitely return, thanks for a lovely evening :)

I had a lovely meal. The staff were friendly and attentive.

First time eating in the restaurant and we were very happy. Food was great overall and we enjoyed that fact that things came out ad hoc and when they were ready. This meant we weren't too full or the table wasn't over crowded. Whitebait and cod roe were winners as was the pork belly bon bon things. The crab taco was good, for my own taste the meat ones may have offered more moisture. The cornbread with Chorizo was a stand out. Very sweet with a smokey element from the Chorizo. Staff were great. Very friendly and attentive. What I loved the most was they were turning people away. People coming to see if they could get a table or being pointed next door to the pub to order. Great atmosphere and amazing to see an independent doing well. We perhaps over ordered, perils of not having gone before but certainly not a bad thing. Some great specials on. We had whitebait, cod roe, cornbread and Chorizo, 4 crab tacos, potatoes, pork belly and deep fried cherry pie. Glass of wine and a coke for under £80. I think that's not bad.

We had the most delicious Sunday lunch I can highly recommend the roast beef cooked perfectly with a generous selection of vegetables. Monkfish also a delicious dish. A very warm welcome with excellent friendly staff. The best bread and butter pudding we’ve ever had too! 10/10 We will be back soon!

We came to Good For Cowboys for the first time last night and the food was exceptional. We had chicken and beef tacos - the meat was so soft and so tasty, very highly recommended. We also had potatoes, the seasoning was unreal. The pork croquettes were amazing and the chorizo cheese corn dogs were huge and just perfect. We finished with the milk sponge cake which I could of had for all 3 courses, the cream was out of this world and the cake was just moist, soft and not heavy. Deffo recommend, we will be back again.

Visited for a Sunday lunch as had been recommended. We were all thrilled that every bit of food was carefully, and tastily prepared, no boring boiled to death veg here. Yum

Varied selection, good sized portions and reasonably priced food, served promptly by friendly staff and hot. Excellent home made chips and hand pulled ale to wash it down. Bedrooms are well appointed and super comfy.

2/3/26 After a long walk we were ready for our evening meal which did not disappoint. Starters of squid and halloumi came out quickly and were delicious, followed by our roast beef dinner . The beef was cooked perfectly ( slightly pink ) the veg and roast potatoes were well seasons and tasted delicious. We were greeted and seated immediately with extremely friendly and attentive staff . A fabulous way to end our weekend !!! Thank you

A good range of excellent quality dishes to choose from. The portions are proper Yorkshire (who said they were "careful"?) I had the whisky bread and butter pudding for dessert, which was the best I have ever had. It was much lighter than you would imagine and went down a treat, even after a decent main course. Others in our party had the trifle and said that it was the best they had had. The staff were lovely and very obliging. We were a party of 10 and all thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It's not cheap, but quality never is. Recommended.
