The Plough at Whitegate – NorthwichCame yesterday for a pre Christmas catch up with two lovely friends, the venue was really nicely decorated for Christmas. We were seated by the log burner which was lovely. The service was excellent, perfectly timed and we didn’t feel rushed at all. We all had the chicken and stuffing sandwich which was nicely filled and very tasty. I had the soup which was potato, leek and sage and was very tasty and my friends had beautifully cooked chips. We had a lovely time and will be coming back early next year.

Bacchus Restaurant – MacclesfieldOn the evening of the 3rd December we went to celebrate my husband's birthday. The quality and quantity of the food provided was fantastic. We visited another establishment recently, close to Biddulph Grange Gardens and were disappointed with the food. This location is far superior and really worthy of a visit. The atmosphere, with roaring fires, great service, great food, good choice of drinks and, also being dog friendly is a real find and we will be visiting on a regular basis.

Sea bass and lasagne are particular favourites and the raspberry trifle in December is to die for. All excellent value for money and served by friendly staff who remember what you like.
