We enjoyed an excellent Sunday dinner.

The Carriers Inn – FrodshamVisited 2/11/2025 with friends for Sunday dinner. 2 off us had the roast beef, 1 had pork, 1 had turkey. All meals were superb. Hot,tasty and plentiful. Staff friendly and attentive.lovely ambience definitely will be returning
Alvanley Arms – TarporleyLovely meal and a great atmosphere.
Alvanley Arms – TarporleyHad a lovely meal, staff were very attentive. Would definitely return
White Lion at Alvanley – FrodshamLovely food and service, definitely recommend
Panama Hattys Restaurant & Bar – TarporleyWhile visiting family in the area, I visited The Plough twice. On the first occasion we’d planned to go elsewhere but hadn’t booked , so on arrival they couldn’t accommodate our party. We then decided to try the Plough. On arrival it was busy but we were welcomed and without any fuss they placed tables together. so we could all sit together. Service was good and the food was too. There was a special offer on the day we visited which we all took advantage of. The second visit was three days later, with a different group. On this occasion I booked. I did find the booking system slightly confusing as the timings were in EET, so when I received the booking confirmation it was 2 hours ahead of the actual booking time. The visit was very pleasant though and we all enjoyed our meals . The pub is in a lovely situation with an large car park. I would definitely visit again when in the area.
The Plough at Whitegate – NorthwichStaff were very friendly and helpful but there appeared to be only 2 on duty at 1:00 on a Tuesday. I had liver and bacon, not often on pub menus ,it was very good. ladies toilets were in excellent decorative order. The chairs in the dining areas were comfortable but very heavy to move.
White Lion at Alvanley – FrodshamThis is a real gem and has amazing food quality - we have made this our regular stop off and look forward to trying out the breakfast menu as well. There was a delay for the food but I’m happy to wait for quality
Cafe De Paris – Nantwichfood was excellent and the atmosphere was very good. Staff were nice but at one point we wanted extra drinks but the staff were no where to be seen. In the end I got up and went to the bar myself. I would understand if it was busy but it wasn’t as it was midweek. Apart from that I’d happily go back. Everything else was excellent
Panama Hattys Restaurant & Bar – TarporleyHusband and I booked for a Friday night. Food was lovey, staff friendly and the fire nice and warm on a chilly night. But there were only 3 tables occupied. It's situated in a remote location but then again, it always as been. Just recently, business seems quiet.
The Plough at Whitegate – NorthwichVisited for Friday lunchtime. Very pleasant restaurant- staff very friendly and service was great. Good menu choices. We went for the set menu which was good value. Food was of a really high standard and really well presented. Definitely recommend.
Bacchus Restaurant – MacclesfieldExcellent service and food as usual
Bacchus Restaurant – MacclesfieldFirst time visiting. I had booked and the table had a reservation sign on it but it was dirty from previous customers and still not cleaned/wiped when the waitress sat us down. Service was very slow and I then had to chase the staff to order a drink and for the menus. Food was ok but I ordered a sandwich on sourdough not toasted but it arrived toasted. The waitress said they’d remake it but we had waited so long and my friend had her meal so we’d then be eating at different time - so I just took it. No token discount offered for the wrong order. Cute little place but we were disappointed with the overall experience.
Cafe De Paris – NantwichFab lunch with family. Good, all round menu and children, plus vegetarians catered for really well. Lovely staff, attentive service, nothing too much trouble. Also, great cocktail! Really recommend and look forward to next visit.
The Coach and Horses – CongletonI walk with a group that lunches at The Poachers every Wednesday arriving at noon. Numbers vary, yesterday ( 29/10/25) there were 9. I pre-order meals for the group from the 'Lunch - Two Courses Only £14' menu. We have a very good relationship with the staff. Yesterday everything was fine. Pub got reasonably busy after we arrived.
The Poachers Inn – MacclesfieldHad a lovely meal, service was quick and friendly and the food was delicious. Good sized portions and cooked to perfection. Also the room was cosy with the coal fire burning and just what we needed on a coal windy night.
White Lion at Alvanley – FrodshamOver the years we have been here meeting our friends for lunch many times. Our last visit was on Sunday 26th October, again for lunch. It's a lovely place, the staff are friendly and the food is very nice. My wife had liver and onions, I had the chicken Balmoral which was the nicest I have ever had. Our friends had the salt and pepper chicken and steak and ale pie. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals, and will definitely carry on visiting.
