we arrived on a wet sunday evening having made an online booking. very friendly reception, warm and inviting lounge, lots of freindly people chatting and others playing darts in an anti room. Food was lovely, really tasty and a variety of options all at a resonable price. we had a lovely evening and will definately come again. thank you

My partner and I ate at Grants’ on 30 August. The staff were very attentive and helpful. We both had the sea trout, which was delicious. If we had a small criticism, we don’t like having to pay extra for vegetables that we feel should be included in the price of the meal. To be fair, a lot of restaurants do this and it takes the shine off the dining experience for us. However, we would still recommend Grants’ because of the food quality.

Busy restaurant for lunch we got the last table for two. Service was great, no waiting, had a selection of small plates, lovely food, nice atmosphere despite the intimate space when busy, we will return.

A great little family run Bistro in the heart of Grasmere. All the food is freshly prepared and tasty with a great choice from a small number of well put together choices. There's a good atmosphere and prices are reasonable.

Our latest visit for Sunday lunch was disappointing. Very slow service…20 minutes after being seated we had to ask someone if we could order drinks. Food arrived nearly an hour after we arrived and was poor - small portions and lukewarm.

Great food and great service even on a busy bank holiday weekend will definitely be back

Delightful dining. Beautifully well balanced flavours in a well put together menu. Pleasant surroundings where one could hold a conversation without overly loud music. Which is nice for a change. Attentive staff who didn't interrupt the dining experience. I would highly recommend Grants of Castlegate for quality food served well. Priced fairly for the quality of ingredients and the chefs obvious skills at combining them.

Visited Lewis’s Bistro based on reviews! I had the chicken supreme which was very tasty and my husband had the cod , if I was cooking cod with a nice topping, I’d have put it on the flesh side, this was on the skin side and as my husband doesn’t eat the skin, was left with a very bland piece of cod !I was looking forward to lemon cheesecake with a raspberry coulis .It didn’t come with the coulis , so it was very rich without it ! I think on the whole it was overpriced.

What a great find. Made welcome from the moment we walked through door and the place was very busy being bank holiday weekend and all the staff were well organised. Food was fab and good value for money. Popped in the next day for a quick pint Definitely one to return to for food Booking advisable

I was highly recommended Sage and vine and very disappointed. The food was a bit tastles. The mussels we had were flavourless. The calamari were nkt crispy and a lot of it was spicy even though wasn't stated on the menu there will be anything spicy in it . We had 2 deserts that had alcohol in them and the 2 kids that had them were never asked about their age so assumed they were alcohol free. Wouldn't go back .

Had a fantastic meal with excellent service in a lovely welcoming venue. I would highly recommend booking a table to experience the high quality food and wines all served up by the friendly professional staff. 5 stars from me.

Delicious food, everything was excellent

Had a table booked for 4. Asked to be sat away from the door as it was very drafty when guests walked in. Was put on a table next to, (which was still drafty) the original as they had no other tables, luckily there wasn't a lot of people going in & out. Service was good. Menu was explained very well as a person in our party had allergies. Cod loin was very dry and the calamari was soggy. There was a prawn dish that had a raw prawn in it, which they deducted from the bill without us even questioning it. The lamb kleftiko was nice. Personally I didn't have a good experience, but have been before & found it very enjoyable.

Food was excellent and great value. First visit for us and we were pleasantly surprised. Good service and great atmosphere.
