The atmosphere was warm and lively. The staff were lovely. The food was delicious. We particularly enjoyed the fish pie!

Been a couple of times now and the food has been exceptional on both occasions. The menu has a good variety on both food and drinks. All the staff are very friendly and welcoming. I would recommend it to anybody, and will definitely be back.

Really lovely food. Well presented, fantastic combination of flavours. The restaurant looks quite unprepossessing from the outside, but was a real revelation inside! Would recommend to anyone who really loves food.

We booked to go to Lewis's for the 2 night's that my husband and I were staying in Grassmere. Food was excellent, staff were very efficient and welcoming. No complaints at all. Tip - top We'll definitely be booking on our next visit.

The Sage and Vine was the perfect place for lunch after a trip on the Settle to Carlisle Line. Everything was beautifuuly presented, the service was efficient and friendly and the food delicious. We couldn't have asked for anything better!

Ate dinner here 2 nights in a row whilst holidaying nearby. The food was delicious and plentiful (highly recommend the venison and the duck). You don’t come away hungry. The servers are all friendly, helpful and efficient despite it being so busy. We ate in the dog friendly area which was great as we were holidaying with our Labradors. Highly recommend.

We were visiting the Lake District for a few days and staying in Penrith. We went here for dinner on our second night and we was not disappointed. It was a Sunday evening so wasn’t very busy but we still got a warm welcome from the staff and owner. I asked the waitress for recommendations as I couldn’t choose from all the great options. She recommended the soufflé for starter and lamb for main and that is what I went with. My husband had the fish starter and the duck for main. The food was absolutely amazing and the portions were really good too. We also got some lovely bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar to start. I had the rhubarb and ginger crumble for dessert. Amazing! The waitress came over and chatted with us quite a bit asking where we had visited and where we had eaten etc. she gave us some ideas for where to go. It was a lovely evening and would highly recommend.
