Nice food, good service.

We had a really warm welcome at The Pheasant in Keswick — the reception made us feel genuinely special from the moment we arrived. The service throughout was excellent: attentive without being over the top. The food was just as impressive. I started with a leek and potato soup that tasted just like something homemade — simple and comforting. For my main, I had the fish pie, which was packed with generous portions of fresh fish and full of flavour. My wife chose the baked Brie to start, followed by the Lake District beef pie, which she thoroughly enjoyed. The vegetables were all cooked beautifully. To top it off, the Old Peculier was in great condition, clearly from a well-maintained cellar. A thoroughly enjoyable visit — we happily left a £10 tip and would definitely return.

I had the most wonderful meal with my friend who had never been to the Horse and Farrier and she was delighted with the fish and Chips she had. She said it was the best cooked fish she has ever had. My meal course was very colourful in the way it was presented and the taste was reflected in the taste, it was delightful and very memorable meal. The service was good and friendly.

Have eaten here quite a few times now and never fails to please. Staff are very good - efficient and helpful. Great menu - often end up with only one thing able to choose - definitely apply for choice here. Will be back

Food very good as always, we had the cod, sea bass, stroganoff & red thai curry, great service we will be back next time we’re in Grasmere.

Had a wonderful meal & were greeted with friendly staff. The menu gives a good choice & the cooking & presentation of the food is excellent. Booking is essential as this is a small venue

I had a disappointing meal. Food was very average. Prawn piri piri was anything but - frozen prawns barely warm and little or no chilli oil Herb crusted cod wasn’t great. Crust was on skin of cod which was tough and impossible to eat. Sadly, I wouldn’t recommend restaurant or return.

Another great meal with a fantastic atmosphere! Never fails!

Three of us came for Sunday Lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the roast beef dinner and roast lamb. My elderly mum was able to have a smaller portion, which was most welcome. Of course we couldn’t resist the desserts! All the food was delicious and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Couldn’t ask for more so can highly recommend.
