The H& F is Consistently good . Had the festive menu, which was superb quality and amazing value for money. Super friendly helpful staff, amazing delicious food. One of our favourite places to dine.

A lovely meal to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Good service, excellent food and a nice setting spoilt only by the loud, intrusive table next to us.

Excellent evening meal. Thoroughly recommend the choice of food, the quality and flavour all served in a convivial atmosphere with friendly, attentive service.

Unfortunately my friend and I were not able to dine here, despite us having booked a table, because a waitress refused us service claiming we were drunk. At first she did not tell the both of us, only my friend on her way to the toilet. Then when another waitress came to take our order the other came over and told her that we are not to be served and to get out. We were not being loud, aggressive, disorderly, or disruptive so are failing to understand why we couldn’t be served. Very poor service from the blonde lady with shoulder length hair as she did not come to the table to tell the both of us at the same time.

First time here and. Wasn’t disappointed. Nice atmosphere in the place staff were amazing at talking us through the food and wine menus. Food was all excellent and came when ready rather as one which was nice to eat away as more arrived making it interesting. Will definitely be back.

Great restaurant and good menu selection with a good variety of Italian dishes and dessert. Helpful and professional staff who are accommodating. We were with a party of 15 and they dealt with us and all the complications of that efficiently. Good price too.

Equally as good as the last time we had been. I would highly recommend grants to anyone, meal sizes are a little on the smaller size, but your paying for quality and you can top portions up with the nice sides they have to offer. I personally had 3 courses and a side with the main, I wasn’t overly stuffed afterwards so the balance is spot on! The menu is also not over cluttered and I would of been happy with pretty much every option!

What a fantastic find. I booked this restaurant because of the great reviews it received & it didn’t fail. The restaurant was lovely, the food was excellent & the service was first class. We will visit here again when we are next in Carlisle.

Fabulous home cooked foods. Everything was piping hot and very good portions. Cosy intimate little country pub feel and service was prompt and friendly. Can’t fault a thing. There was even a smaller appetites section on the menu which is brilliant for children but also anyone who isn’t a big eater. Beautiful meal. Thank you
