La Mezzaluna – CarlisleFirst visit but a really good find and we will certainly eat here again. The food was delicious, I had belly pork which was drop to bits tender. My daughter had chicken which was also beautifully cooked. All the accompaniments were of an equally high standard. After a starter and a main course we were too full to have a desert. My only criticism is that the portions were too large particularly the belly pork. I am only too aware of people in this world of ours are starving. I felt really guilty leaving so much food on my plate.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWhat a find! We had a great evening in Lewis Bistro this week. On a Tuesday night we wondered if it might be quiet - not a bit of it, several tables were turned over twice while we had dinner. Great service, delicious food, generous portions - highly recommended. Booking is a must - no walk-ins available on the night we visited.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereFish pie was had lots of fish so worth the money but was very dry. Venison berginon was good but could have been warmer. We both had a sweet, cheese cake & sticky toffee pudding which were lovely.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickThis is just one of those places you should go, it's a traditional pub serving great food and the staff are also great.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickExcellent food well cooked and well presented BUT no interesting drinks without alcohol , no espresso coffee and an unchanging menu
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithExcellent food well cooked and well presented BUT no interesting drinks without alcohol , no espresso coffee and an unchanging menu
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithThird time we have visited here for an evening meal. Gorgeous food, looked after us really well, even the dog got a treat. See you both next year, thank you.
Goody Blake’s – GrasmereVisited on a Saturday evening for 8.15 service. Booked in advance as a result of recommendation by friends. Just as well as the sign on door said it was fully booked. We were shown to our table in the window, the best table in the house in our opinion. Both the staff who dealt with us, the one who showed us to our table and the one taking our order were friendly and professional despite the place being very busy. The wine was ordered and arrived quickly. We decided against starters; my partner had the surf and turf and I had the fillet steak with a peppercorn sauce. Both dishes were delicious and the steaks were tender and cooked exactly as we’d ordered. By the time we’d ate them we were full and couldn’t manage desserts. That was not a problem and the staff left us until we were ready to leave. The prices were on a par with what is charged locally and I had no complaints. Would certainly visit again
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereGreat meal. Best roast beef we have had in a long time. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeExcellent food and good service on our first visit. If we’re ever in Penrith again we will certainly revisit. Prawns in my starter were perfectly cooked, very hot but still juicy. Similarly the pork tenderloin dish was cooked to perfection. All very delicious and well presented. Wine was good value and quality and a cheese board was the perfect end to this particular meal.
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithFabulous food, great service. So good we’ve rebooked to come back before we return home. Highly recommended.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickFaultless Sunday lunch here with 3 friends. Friendly efficient service and superb food - the Dexter beef was a revelation! Can't wait to come again
Harry’s Cafe Bar at Yew Tree Barn – Grange-over-SandsWe enjoyed a delicious 3 course meal during our recent visit to grasmere. Everything was cooked to perfection and possibly the best salted caramel cheesecake I have ever tasted. The team were exactly as they should be pleasant, friendly eager to deliver a perfect service. Definitely visit again on our next trip.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWe visited the Pheasant early evening and we had very good meals, one seafood pasta, the other was salmon. The staff were very pleasant.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickOur food was absolutely fabulous. We go to The Pheasant each time we visit Keswick and we just love it there.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickWe returned this week for another Sunday roast. Delicious!! We'll be back again at the first opportunity for excellent food and great service.
Harry’s Cafe Bar at Yew Tree Barn – Grange-over-SandsLovely Sunday lunch with the little one and my parents. Service was quick despite being busy. Food enjoyed by all and colouring thoroughly enjoyed by little one. Only complaint was that smokers smoke right outside the door, which is open, bringing smoke into the eating area.
