We're here on a week's holiday with our daughter and managed to get into The Pheasant Tuesday evening. Beautiful food , so fresh and lovely staff. My husband had the venison which he said was so tender. The fish pie and all the veg were all tasty & beautifully cooked. Our daughter loved the cumberland sausage too !Great portions , so much so we couldn't manage a dessert !

La Mezzaluna – CarlisleWe were a group of six visiting from various parts of the Country for a family wedding. I booked easily on line. Met by a delightful waitress who attended to our needs throughout the night. The food was delicious, beautifully cooked, although our bill was a tad high, you have to pay for quality and there was not a morsel left on any plate. Great place and if we were in the area again we would visit.

Queens Head Inn Tirril – PenrithVery friendly, helpful staff. We arrived with one extra than we had booked for. Despite the fact that they were full, they managed to organise our booking and sort out the seating without it appearing to be a problem and with a good sense of humour. The menu was very interesting; the food was beautifully presented and tasted as good as it looked! All in all, an excellent Sunday lunch. We hope to return very soon.

Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereService was sloppy. Only 3 meals arrived. We had to wait for the fourth and then it was not what we ordered. Then waited for cutlery which arrived after 2 requests. Finally we were charged for the incorrect meal, which added £12 to the meal. It really spoilt the occasion.
