Food was absolutely amazing. My daughter has coeliac and the range of food for her is the best in Carlisle. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Mezzaluna is our go to restaurant.

La Mezzaluna – CarlisleHi You sent me a link to review a meal I didn't have. Arrived for our booking to find you weren't expecting us and there was no Chef.
General Burgoyne – UlverstonFive of us had the most delicious main and dessert. One of our party commented that the gluten free bread roll was the nicest she had ever had, as was the burger. I had the chicken, ham and leek pie which was amazing, I absolutely loved the veg, very tasty. And the puddings were to die for. On the whole the best meal we have all had out for a long time. The staff are very friendly and helpful, hence the nice tip. Definitely recommend, 5* food and service
Queens Head Inn Tirril – PenrithExceptional food, staff were 5* . Had a table booked for a hen party of 10. Kindly decorated the table with the accessories dropped off earlier in the day. The girls all Ioved their food. Is the only place I go for a meal when im visiting Carlisle. Highly recommend.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleOur first visit to Grasmere and we loved it. We had a lovely meal. The food was amazing. Two of our family are coeliac and we were given a huge choice. The homemade gluten free sticky toffee pudding was delicious! Super friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere made our evening very special. We can’t wait to return in the future.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereAn excellent restaurant recommended by a friend - the service, the food and the choice were all fantastic and I highly recommend. My only constructive point would be upstairs room has nothing to absorb sound, so it was very loud. Even some curtains would help absorb some of the sound. Wouldn't stop me going back again though as it really was excellent.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleEaten at Wheatsheaf many times and the standards do not fall- great food and friendly service Travel from Wigan for the area and pub but always worth the journey
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeYet again another gorgeous meal at this wonderful bistro. This time we took our children, aged between 13 and 22. They all loved it. The steak was beautifully cooked and cut like butter. The pork is out of this world, which is probably why I always order it and it never disappoints. Service is friendly and attentive. Hopefully back soon.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereThere was 12 of us that ate here on Friday, fantastic food and the service was great too! Thank you
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleSmall pub, very busy. We didn't have long to wait for our meal and the service was good. I had the beef bourguignon which was generous and tasty. My wife had the salmon and crushed new potatoes in butter. My wife loves salmon, new potatoes and butter, however there was enough butter for about 6 meals. As the potatoes were crushed they had soaked it up, but still there was about an eighth of an inch of excess in the dish. She eventually gave up, not even able to finish the salmon. When commenting to the waitress we were told that 'people like it that way'.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickEverything was just perfect. Good service and excellent food. Looking forward to a return visit.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWas visiting from London and was given Mezzaluna as a recommendation. Meal booked before train journey back. All 5 of us really enjoyed our meals and the puddings were amazing all food beautifully presented with good sized portions. Staff were attentive and the atmosphere was lovely and relaxed. We've a caravan at Haltwhistle and will definitely come again.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleWonderful atmosphere with exceptionally cooked food alongside a warm, friendly service.
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithA gem in the heart of Grasmere
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWe were lucky to get a last minute booking, and really enjoyed the food and wine. The waitress wouldn't let us order desserts at the same time as our mains, and a good job too! There was no way we could have eaten desserts, as we were so full. I had the onion soup as a main, and the portion was enormous. The local cheeseboard was outstanding, and beautifully presented. The waitresses were attentive and very likeable. We'd gladly go again.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereThe food and service were so great, we booked to eat there again for the following night!
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWe live locally and this pub although small offers a great choice of food and the service is excellent- I had gammon which was bigger than my head! With 2 eggs! Dog friendly too.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickWe only visit Keswick once a year and Sunday Lunch at the Pheasant is a bit of a tradition. Once again service and food well up to the standard we've grown to expect. It's nice to find constancy in life! Bring an appetite - or take away a 'doggy bag'. Really tasty traditional food and great pubby atmosphere - good beer too. Do book on a summer Sunday -it was really busy
