Never disappoints

What a lovely little bistro this is. We happened to walk past on a walk out yesterday took the details and booked a table for that evening. Upon arrival it was all set up nice and cosy, lovely warm welcome by the man behind the bar told us we could sit where we liked, menu’s were brought over and a nice bottle of water. Ordered our drinks and placed our food order to a very helpful lady who answered our questions, garlic bread with cheese, followed by sea bass for me and halibut for the husband, all of the food was delicious especially my lobster sauce and of excellent standard presented beautifully, staff were lovely and I was tempted by dessert but just didn’t have the room for it so maybe next time. We’d definitely recommend and return when back in the area.

My husband & I reserved a table at Lewis’s for my birthday trip away . We had the Prawns & camembert to start & the pork belly & fillet steak for our main course. All of the food was absoloutely phenominal, delicious & cooked to perfection. The welcome was friendly & the service attentive. We will definately be back - hopefully very soon!

DO NOT BOOK THROUGH SUGARVINE!!! Food was amazing and staff attentive. Beer was great but when we turned up the pub was full. We had sent a request via Sugarvine without a response but decided to show up anyway. The lady on the bar had to apologies as the business doesn’t even use Sugarvine. She offered us a drink and we waited for a table to become available. They have tried to have it removed but have been told that it cannot be taken down from SUGARVINE !!!! Which is ridiculous. This is a lovely local pub run by a local couple. It’s busy and they take phone bookings. So would advise calling direct. Like I say food was great and will definitely be back just a shame they are having issues with this site. I won’t be using SUgarvine again as it seems that they are uncooperative! Also we went on a Thursday as hours on here say that it’s only open Thursday to Sunday but when we arrived the pub is actually open Tuesday to Sunday. So don’t hold off booking. :) Thanks Chris and Chloe for a great time.

Lovely restaurant in a beautiful location. Friendly staff with great food. The pork belly was wonderful. Ate in several places during our week stay and this was the best, although the most expensive.

Fabulous food , lovely setting with excellent staff . We had Friday dinner and as it was so good we booked the Saturday as well . The fish dishes were excellent.

What a lovely place! Quaint, rustic little gem in the middle of the countryside. Beautifully furnished, friendly staff and first class food. Would definitely recommend!

Excellent food,, great value for money

Love this place so much. The food is amazing especially the meat pie, mash and mushy peas... TH BEST. The service is friendly and professional and they welcome my young Granddaughter every time. Thank you x

my Wife and I travelled to Penrith for a night out and booked a table at Grants for my birthday. The staff are amazing especially Heather, the food was magnificent along with a 1st class service. A lovely atmosphere, great prices, friendly staff and top class food. We will most definitely visit again in the near future.

Absolutely brilliant, great food, quality wine list at reasonable prices, very attentive and friendly staff. Definitely eat here next time we are in the area.

Food and service certainly OK but Lewis’s is relatively expensive and I wasn’t convinced high prices were justified
