Absolutely brilliant, great food, quality wine list at reasonable prices, very attentive and friendly staff. Definitely eat here next time we are in the area.
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithFood and service certainly OK but Lewis’s is relatively expensive and I wasn’t convinced high prices were justified
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereAte here on a Tuesday night during the Easter holidays and had a lovely time. Nice atmosphere, very good food and great service. The standout dish was the pork belly which was amazing. Highly recommended, and the best restaurant we found in our 3 night stay in Grasmere.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereService was slow
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleOur best meal of 3 different restaurants during our stay in Grasmere. Attentive service at our advance reserved table. Good quality food, nicely presented. Paid the bill to Amanda & happened to mention it was my birthday treat. Thank you for the complementary limoncello's.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereFantastic food, excellent wine, and wonderful customer service. Such a relaxed environment for both dining and staying, they have created a perfect blend of 5 star surroundings with a warm, welcoming, and relaxed style. Will definitely be going back.
The Music Room Restaurant at Augill Castle – Kirkby StephenDelicious meal and friendly, attentive staff.
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithThe burgers are excellent, the fish pie it was excellent as well.
Brown Horse Inn – WindermereEnjoyed a lovely meal with friends at Grants. Great menu and the food didn’t disappoint. Absolutely delicious. The service was also very good with the staff being very attentive and accommodating. We look forward to enjoying more meals at Grants in the future m.
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithGreat food, friendly staff
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereVery nice although menu very limited I had lamb chops which were beautifully cooked but the roasted beetroot didn’t work for me so maybe leave it off this dish .
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereVery easy to book on line and received a reminder about the booking. Lovely welcome at the pub, service was prompt and courteous. The meal was lovely. Bottle of house sauvignon blanc probably a bit overpriced as was only 11%, however, it was very pleasant. Staff were attentive but not intrusive. I didn't have my dog with me on this occasion but I could clearly see how welcome dogs were.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeEnjoyed the meal , have been a few times now always good service and great food
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleA warm welcome to the Bistro we sat near the window, I had French onion soup, with a cheesy crouton, very nice, my sister had the cheese soufflé described as excellent. We both had the Chicken supreme with green beans, carrots, lovely fried potatoes, chorizo and gravy. Again we could not fault this dish and ate the lot. With 2 large glasses of very nice red wine and table water we really enjoyed our evening. We enjoyed watching the antics of the new lambs in the field opposite the bistro which was really busy. Do book if you wish to come for really good food.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereBang on. As ever. Forgot to put the extra olives on my pizza but not an issue. Good device and good food. Thanx to Rob and Jane and the whole team . R.I.P. Chris
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleExcellent meal definitely be back
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereAte here on a Tuesday evening in late March and it was nearly full, a very good sign. Very friendly and professional staff and excellent food. I had lamb chops while my wife had pork belly, both were lovely with everything on the plates cooked perfectly. We shared a selection of three very good local cheeses and were both full at the end. There are gluten free options on all courses with most mains being gf and I was given gf biscuits with the cheese (I'm coeliac). Good portions of great food made for a very good end to the day. The only issue, bizarrely, was with the door which opened suddenly and quite robustly when the handle was turned, hitting my forehead, this needs addressing (I would guess some imbalance in air pressure), but otherwise a very enjoyable meal.
