We booked a cottage a couple of doors away from The Pheasant Inn, had heard all good things about the pub so decided to book in for evening meal, staff were amazing, friendly and couldn’t do enough for you, the meals were fab, hot and plenty of choice, would recommend booking as it was very busy when we arrived, would highly recommend

We were given excellent service, superb food in a very convivial environment. Can't speak highly enough of the Pheasants quality, value for money and service. Adriano’s Italian Restaurant – Carlisle3/5 for my meal. I had the Mushroom Cobbler which I think is a new vegetarian dish on the menu. The cobbler itself was quite tasty but the pathetic looking side of overcooked, tasteless carrots that came with it were dire. This dish has so much potential to be better so it needs reworking because at the moment it looks a bit like an afterthought to fill a vegetarian option on the menu. Maybe serve it with spinach and some other decent veg to make to make it more appetising. Husband’s pork dish was 5/5 because he enjoyed it. It looked well presented on the plate compared to my dish. Staff were lovely, friendly and attentive so no issues there.

Horse and Farrier – PenrithLovely meal with my husband on Thursday 18th September. We had a large table to accommodate our large dog. Prawn starter, fish and chips and a cheese pie all excellent.
